I know that it is possible, even though quite hard. I was just wondering whether or not the UE would attack me if I was in a Voinian ship. Would they think I was one of them. Please Respond!

Yes, if you are in a Voinian ship, they will shoot you. Sorry, it has to do with ships inherent governments.

Your rating in UE systems won't be damaged, but UE ships will still attack you as long as you are in a Voinian ship.

Yes, they do attack you, and it really drives me crazy! I hope in Nova that other ships will scan your ID before shooting at you, just because your ship looks bad.

Actually, I was flying around in a V. crusier once and when I landed on a UE planet I got a message saying I have to appear in court for using illegal equipment. If I didn't show I was to be banned from all UE planets. The result was I got fined for 20% of my credits. Still got to keep my stuff though :). Its like finding someone guilty of owning an unregistered gun and then letting them keep it.

Although I usually don't perfer bigger ships, I don't think I'd mind owning a Voinian Cruiser while working for the United Earth. If only they didn't shoot at you!

Being able to cruise around in a Vonian Dreadnaught would be cool if the UE knew that you were in fact you. If I was a captain of a UE ship and I saw a Dreadnaught jump in I wouldn't ask for permission first though. I'd (try) to blast you. Probably lose, too.
BTW, I once grabbed a Vonian Frigate on a Outpost Obron (don't remember system) mission. Jumped into the uninhabited system between Outpost Gamma and Obron and this UE carrier launches it's birds at me. I was toast; I don't like non-guided weapons on SLOW ships. That and I only had so many turret rockets and no hope of resupply. And I didn't dare fire back cos I couldn't land to refuel my ship. Dead as a doornail.
I once got a UE Destroyer (the origional U.E.S. (Provisional) Devastator) on that mission in my UE fighter. I got a minor dent in my record but I hated jumping into a system ina small fighter and seeing this fighter wing AND a cruiser bearing down on me. I hate the Vonian ships anyway; too slow and lacking guided weapons.

If you want to use Voinian ships, then just use them as escorts. I don't usually have any problems with that. Every time I go into battle, I grab some voinian fighters and sometimes a frigate. In my experience, this has worked with renegade ships as well. Helians make for pretty good escorts.

**Great escorts are character (düd?) ships that have been outfitted with stuff like phase beams and other special items. Naturally, CWs and other capital ships are great too (if you capture them).
Yea, it'd be really nice to have some kind of universal IFF code. Using Igazras and Zidaras has always had the drawback of being hated by the other strands.

You can get fined for using spacemines? hahahahaha! I've never even thought of using spacemines! I remember in the old EV, you could be in a Rebel Cruiser, and be cool with the Confeds. I'm glad they changed it however. If you were in a UE Carrier, and you saw a Voinian Cruiser jump on in, wouldn't you want to start up your weapons rather than hail it and say hello?
