Escape Velocity on Escape Velocity: Override?

Now why do that? Well there is a large number of people who loved the original game and didn't really like the sequel despite a better engine. Well for those people, here is a plugin for EVO called EV that makes it act just like (surprise!)EV!

It's called EVonEVO & is available at (url="http://"http://www.concentric.net/~burgisrk/evonevo")http://www.concentri...urgisrk/evonevo(/url).

It will not be able to use EV plugins, but in most other ways it's exactly the same The only differences are:

•The holo news looks like the EVO though it has EV info, if somebody knows how to change it
I'm all ears.

•The intro screen say's Override and has the Override splash, again if somebody knows how to
fix it, drop me a line.

Any bugs, suggestions, or help is appreciated.

2-Why did you have to post it when I was just planning on posting my own plug that converted EVO into EV?

It's called EV on EVO (not imaginative, but hey! :)), and is available at (url="http://"http://www.concentric.net/~burgisrk/evonevo")http://www.concentri...urgisrk/evonevo(/url). The site needs some work, but I just wanted it done first.

Sorry me being the first, yours was probably better, I just ran the various data files through EVOlution and it works perfectly, if a bit big (3.4 mb).

Some of the weapon specs in it have been changed because EV weapons seem to behave differently in EVO. An outfit or two will be added, and maybe even a new ship, as well as a few missions. Since the plug isn't completed yet, that's all I can tell you.

Not to burst anyones bubble, but AFAIK this has been around since before 1.0.2 ...

It's still a great idea, and I'm not really clear on why ports from EV to EV:O didn't gain more popularity.

IMO, it's because if people want to play Escape Velocity, they play Escape Velocity. If people want to play EVO, they play EVO. The engine is not extremely different, so porting EV to EVO doesn't change that much (I think).

Well the "people who want to play EV get EV, EVO get EVO" doesn't cover all the bases. For instance, what if say you registered EVO. Then you decide you'd like to play EV. What are you going to do? Do you want to pay the $20+ (I can't remember the price right now), or would you rather use EVO to use it.

Despite wanting to have the only new plug that does that ;), I am willing to lend support to the both of us releasing it.
