    • The Lazira

Does anyone else love this ship? I always get it in every game file I have at one point or another. Properly upgraded, I have used the S.S. Spitfire, my Lazira, to do all the missions. It combines speed with firepower in a slightly too expensive package, but forget the price! I love this ship and anyone who hasn't ever flown in one get in one now.

PS: There has to be someone else that thinks like this.

    • I respect the Lazira deeply, but I am the big-gun sort... But early on, it is one of my prime choices.

I'm always making the mods mad doing something or another, but I'll never learn! I'll never turn! Look at my karma!

    • I love the Lazira but sooner or later I have to upgrade to a CW.

    • I love the Lazira.I don't care about the other ships. The only time I have ever upgraded to another ship it is the Zigara warship.

      ------------------

    • The Lazira's cool but it lacks the speed and looks that an azdara or a miranu gunship has.

Whatever suits you is the best ship.

Nostalgia just isn't what it used to be.

    • Too weak for my tastes. I've never really been in one, only once, and I didn't like it too much. However, one day I might try it... Either it or the Zidara.

    • Oh sure, I like the Lazira a lot. I've done great things with it....in one file I placed 2 or 3 speed upgrades on it, worked for the Azdgari and got their generators, and did other various upgrades....I can kill 2 or 3 Igazras in one go with that thing. 😛

      ------------------

    • The Lazira is an excellent ship. It might even be my second choice of ships, second to the Zidara, of course, which is like a Lazira with upgraded shields and speed.

    • I personally would like the Zidira more, but you can't really do anything with it because of the unsellable bay, the guns/turrets already maxed out, and the only space you get is when you sell the Dispersal Rockets. And in our plug, Extra Weapons, there is a goodie folder with extra mini plugs such as Turret fix, SAD/SAE blinker fixer and a couple more. (I'm just trying to get more people interested in it yknow)

    • The Lazira is a very good, if expensive, warship. After you upgrade it, there's no room for secondary weapons, but since I never use secondaries (Except the Plasma Siphon if I play Igadzra), it doesn't really matter.

While I do like the Lazira, if I'm looking for a medium warship, I'd be better off with the UE Destroyer. It has shields equal to a Lazira and better armor, and when you get rid of the bulky UE weaps, you have +200 tons of space! Room for speed upgrades, shield and armor upgrades, Neutrons, and even Needle Launchers (If I want secondaries, I'll use Needles 'cause they don't take up space. They're like the Javelins from EV)! And with the speed upgrades, it's a little faster than a stock Lazira! All in all, a good ship.

    • The Lazira may be nice, but I think I'll stay with my trusty Arada. That is one mean little warship when upgraded. To bad the crew is so low...

Course, I realy doesn't matter what ship you use as long as you like that ship.

    • I personally think that the Lazira is a 1-day jump UE Destoyer. Take out all the weapons except the phase turrets, add a phase turret, then go down to UE space and add Dospect armor and tons of rockets, and there's a better UE Destroyer! It is slightly weaker, but faster and quicker. I currently have one, sometime I will upgrade to a UE Crusier. I call my ship "The Miranu Destroyer".

      "What?!"
"Jump-start it," Han said. "I'm going to jumpstart it."

    • On my current pilot file, I really went all out in loading up my Lazira, the Herald. In fact, I had so much fun with it, I couldn't bring myself to trade it in for the UE Cruiser, my usual choice. It's just so fast, so deadly, and rugged... I can take out anything in it. I find myself plundering the drifting hulks of several Igazras and Adzgari Warships in that baby and have to wonder why I'd want anything else.

      ------------------

    • I like the Lazira a lot, but when one get used to flying an azdara, then everything else seems sllllooooowwwww. But i do use it to complete the Azdgrai strings, so i can get the azdara 🙂

    • Of course. Everything's slow after an azdara. 🙂

      ------------------

    • The Lazira is great. It has more shields than the UE Destroyer (though less armor) and it comes with great outfits just to begin with. It's also very maneuverable for a warship. Quite a bit like the Corvette in EV. The UE Destroyer is fairly similar, but I prefer Phase to Blaze, and somehow Phase Turrets just don't look right on a UE Destroyer....

    • The fact that it takes 1 day to jump and has alot of fuel makes it gret for doing missions too. But with that firepower, who the hell would want to trade? 😉

    • The Lazira must have been a great ship, back in the days of version 1.0.0, but the 'turreted weapons take up gun slots' rule means that the Lazira actually has less effective primary weapons than the Arada. I think most folks who buy a Lazira are probably trading in an Arada.

The lazira fills an important gap, though, because otherwise you'd have very little between 1Mcr and 9Mcr. What would you have? Voinian frigates, UE destroyers or (just about) the Miranu Heavy Freighter. Particularly for the people who lose a lot of their savings to Captain Hector, the Lazira is a good way to get a ship and invest a decent amount of money in it.

After the lovely Lazira, the Crescent Warship feels sluggish, even fatally so. I 'up'graded to the CW just before the nebula penetration missions, and I had a very hard time against Renegade Crescent Fighters.

    • The (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard3.html#lazira")Lazira(/url) is a wonderful ship... Pretty fast, upgradeable, packed to the brim with firepower... But I have never owned one. It's just that by the time I can own one, I'm too attached to my trusty (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard3.html#arada")Arada(/url) to want anything else. Like VA said, the Arada effectively has more gun slots, it's a tad faster, and, given enough time, it can take anything out up to the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard4.html#igazra")Igazra(/url) with the Monty Python technique (that's how I killed the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard2.html#vdreadnought")dreadnought(/url) the first time). The Lazira's great–just not great enough.
