The Lizara's a great ship. My upgrade line is ushally Shuttle-->Transporter-->UE Fighter-->Arada or Adzara-->Lizara or Zidara-->CW, Igdzra or UE Cruiser.

I always get one unless I'm working for the Zidigar, since the Zidara is pretty much a Lizara with better shields, speed, weapons, and a Fighter Bay.

And I actually like PD Beams(unlike a lot of people here). Just get a few feul tanks and raid some traders if you run out.

I agree totally.

For my tastes, the arada is too fragile to do all the missions without worrying about an unlucky incident leading to sudden death. An upgraded lazira is tough enough to resist any deadly volley, fast enough to outrun any other warship, and maneuverable enough to avoid most of those ships faster than it.

Well, I did do it! I upgraded from a Lazira. Before you get all mad at me, look at my sig. I'm currently in the Emalghion system, and have a few friends there, and also, the ship I upgraded to is a Zidara. A Zidara is like a Lazira, but nicer.

P.S. Whoever made EVO Fixer, it has a bug. If you buy a Zidara and buy/sell anything in the oufit screen, your fighter bay dissapears. :frown: I fixed it with a quick plug-in that replaces the bay, fighter and ship? to their normal thing. Maybe I should post it.

Gaaa. I hate Zidara's, not attacking them (they are pants) but being in one. They are fast but the armour (thats the CORRECT spelling) is pathetic, two Aradas can beat one up in next to no time. But perhaps it was just that I had just bought it to try it out after being in a Cresent Warship.
Personally in my Lazira I only has phase turrets, a few SAD modules (one launcher though) and 4, that's right: 4! Shield Enhancers and the layer of Armour from Paaren Station. That way I can take on a whole fleet of renegade ships and come out on top, mainly from doing the MontyPython. Really the only thing I can't take out is those damned Azdagri Warships(you know what I mean) and the swarm of Azdaras.

That's a lot like I had my Lazira decked out, except I had no SAD stuff, and I added all the engine upgrades. I could take those Azdgari warships along with a few Igazras. The azdaras are a pain in the neck, but if you concentrate on one at a time you can take them out. Or you could just buy some dispersal rockets.

I have to point out that the zidara has exactly the same amount of armour as the lazira. It does have quite a few faults, though, which you really have to fix in order to be able to stand it. I made a plug that makes the phased beams sellable and gets rid of that damn blind spot and now it's a great ship.

On my Lazira, there is max Phase Turrets, Dospect armor, Engine and Thrust upgrade and the Turreted Dispersal Rocket Launcher and Hyper Velocity missles from my plug

Your right, the Zidara does suck. Course, it does deppend on how you trick it out, and sence you only go up against the computer, it's hard to compare ship types of one player to that of another. Like I said before, I perfer the Arada, but then every one is entiteld to his/her opinion.

hehehe sorry, I have an American History teacher (who is currently teaching us American History and we take the piss out of him about the spelling, and of course how you say Alabama and Indiana (and his general accent).

I never really noticed that the Zidara had the same armour as Laziras, i guess it was just the shock after being beaten by two Aradas just after having a cresent Warship.
As for SADs I kept them mainly beacuse I was doing the UE Cruiser and Secession missions meaning I was fighting renegades

Forget the phase turrets and phase weapons in general - to light for attacking armour. I drop all the standard weapons and chuck in a pursuit miscile launcher or 2 (lighter than SAE and faster, fly down to UE space and throw in 3 of those neutron cannons (the turrets are far too heavy), dospect armour and all the sensor stuff. Then I fly to Asdgari space and throw in the Azdgari upgrade and the RCS upgrade and engine upgrades.

Then all you have to do is add all your usual extras (ie auto refueler, etc)

The one thing it needs is more spaces for cannons as when you have the turning upgrades, you dont need turrets

Good idea. Ill try that. But with the Adzgari upgrade and RCS upgrade, wouldn't you turn too dang fast!

I think neutron weapons are too slow when fighting in the crescent. I outfit my ship with them when I need to take on the voinians, but the fighters of the crescent are too fast for such slow-moving weapons. The phased weapons' effectiveness on armor is barely an issue anywhere but voinian space.

I agree, I use Neutrons only against the larger human vessels ans Voinians. If you get swarmed with Kraits or Crescent Fighters, you would want Phase Turrets, Not Neutron ones.
