    • Recommended Plug-Ins of the Past Millenium

List your recommendations here of the best EVO plug-ins and why you think so. Also, list any plug-ins that you feel are worthy and may be overlooked.

      Here are some of mine:

      Frozen Heart (good story)

      Femme Fatale (good story)

    • MAGMA (Excellent total graphics and sound overhaul, ships look awesome in 3/4ths view, sounds much improved, and compatible with every virtually every non-TC plugin (like mine, which will probably be one of the most downloaded plugins upon its release; see sig)) 🙂

      God bless,

Voinian lovers are ignorant of the UE marines taking over Borb Station.
Reign of the UE: Coming this year!

    • Fourth Reich: Small, but excellent.

      Never capitalized
      And always puce:

    • Star Trek EV is nice, but it isn't finished, and i don't like the weapons, why in the world did you make Star Trek torpidos homing? I think they almost always go straight (one exception: The Undiscovered COuntry when spock an mcCoy rig on up to do so)
And the lasers are like EV lasers, they should be beams! Oh well, can't wait or the final release!

    • Oh, BTW I got a plug-in "in the works" that should be cool, called Hypertrophy, see if you can figure out what its about by using its name and what you know about me (Patton the Emalgha lover)

    • my favorites are probably captains of freeport and beyond the crescent... pretty fun

      ------------------

    • I liked "Beyond the Crescent" alot.

      ------------------
      Long live the Rebellion!

    • I just downloaded Magma for the first time, my jaw dropped. That is my vote.

      Keep watch only for the

    • Magma, and ReignLMagma together. Ahhhhh... perfection. And where can I get "Captiens of freeport"? The download thing doesn't work.

Ahh yes, the infamous beam syndrome. Problem is EV/0 only allows 8 beams at one time. There is usually more than 8 ships on the screen at one time! By using sprites they all get a chance to shoot at each other 😉

    • This will repeat some other people, but here's my list.

      Frozen Heart
      Femme Fatale
      Quantumire Trilogy and Return
      MAGMA
Reign of the Voinians, 1 and 2
Lightning Jump (A tiny plug that was for EV, I think, but I changed it to EVO. It make hyperjumps happen as soon as possible, instead of flying across half the system before you jump. I love it.)

Now for the official "Steve's Good but not Great, IMHO, Award"

      F-25
      Fourth Reich
      Captains of Freeport
And some others I can't think of.

Winners of that award may proudly display the following image on any webpage the have:

Well, don't know about the last 1,000 years, but I'd say F-25 v.2.0 is going to be killer for the next millenium. 🙂 Trust me, if you played it and said "that sucked!", try it again. It'll be that much different.

    • MAGMA
      and
      ROTV (Reign Of The Voinians)

are the two best plugs in my opinion

      MAGMA's graphics are stunning
      and
ROTV is great for someone who joins the Voinians

Don't be too serious or have too much fun. Don't be a hermit.

    • one of my favorites, useful standing alone or with any other plug, is plasma. much better explosions.

the best game-altering plugs are frozen heart, femme fatale, and babylon 5. the key is an internally consistent universe with a plausible story, with a sense not only of where you're going but how you get there.

    • For fans of old-school EV, I recommend the following.

      1. Final Battle 3.0. It didn't work for me, but it might for you. Provides a vastly expanded Red Alien Menace Storyline, providing challenging missions and new outfits.

      2. Eye of Orion. Again, didn't work for me (think the machine was cursed). Excellent, excellent storyline with interweaving mission strings, glorious combat, and a really cool ship.

      3. The Plug With the Neutronic Kestrel. The main plot is pretty good, and the outfits are even better. Many wetting-one's-pantaloons-with-terror moments. Also includes three other plugins, such as the original Arena. Oh, and the last battle's a real @#$@#.

      4. Galactic Scourge. God-like total conversion of EV. Fast-tracks the normal Rebel/Confed storylines, and adds about fifty-odd systems with six or so new races. Way too many storylines. Oh, and you get to see EARTH GET BLOWN TO BITS! COOOOOOL!

      For EV:O blokes...

      1. Beyond the Crescent. Great for masochists (plugin creator: "I know! I'll make Crescent Station MORE POWERFUL! Mwah hah ah hah ha!"). Brain-melting puzzles. Conspiracy-theory like plot.

      2. Frozen Heart. Tachyonic Fighter make things go BOOM!

      3. Femme Fatale. Great, but sort of a letdown after the Tach. sigh

      4. Cloak Keep. A great little utility to have around to ensure you keep that cloak.

      5. Zidagar Enhancement. Lets you buy the only worthwile outfit the Zids offer.

      6. Triple Agent. Try and find a really early version to experience its challenge in full. The current version has the difficulty ramped down a million notches. Feel proud if you've managed to go through the original twice.

      7. F-25. Explore, explore, explore, run away run away run away, solve puzzle, explore, explore, track down Elders so you can make the cryptic creeps pay, fight fight fight fight fight, get showered with goodies, prevent armageddon, drink milk, sleep.

      8. Reign of the Voinians. Crush puny humans!

    • Hey there. If you remember my name, you've been here too long.

About a year ago, I wrote a plug that did nothing more then enlarge the size of the map window to fill the screen. Very simple, but I found it an extremely useful enhancement. It has faded into obscurity now, but is still available from (url="http://"http://redrival.com/tgp/embigulator.sit")http://redrival.com/...embigulator.sit(/url)

I suppose I should put it in the main archives so more people can have the use of it. I rank it in here, not just because it's mine, but because of the sheer convenience of a large map window.

    • MAGMA, FH(I haven't played FF yet)

    • MAGMA, FF, FH, Babylon 5.

Alas, I have begun to lose my faith in macs. I wonder how much longer until I succumb?
