    • IMP missiles

Alright, I know I'm branding myself as a complete novice right now, but for some reason i can not fire my imp missiles. I've gotten a a missle rack, I've bought a rocket launcher just because the description mentioned it, but for some reason they won't come up when I try to select my secondary weapon. Also, on an unrelated topic, how can you dominate planets that refuse to send a fleet out, but won't agree to join me? My combat rating is legendary, but whenever i demand tribute, they just tell me I'll be sorry because their fleet is coming, and then nothing happens.Am I missing part of the story line?

      ------------------

    • I think those are weapons in Frozen heart. ZMy advice is don't dominate planets FH.

      ------------------

    • sorry, it is in Frozen Heart, and you're right, I have been dominating planets. I didn't realize that affected what weapons you could buy/use. Is there anything else I'm missing due to my tyrannical disposition(i.e. missions/ ships/ upgrades/ weapons)? I had no clue that attitude affected the more material aspects of the game, and I'm getting a little bored trying to take on rigellien buffer worlds and geting my butt whupped, as well as not being able to land on any planets without a bribe or even getting shot at everywhere I go. Is there any way to reform my status in the system without giving up my planets(I kinda like being rich)?

      ------------------

    • No, it shouldn't affect what weapons you buy. It's just that FH is about the plot, the plug was really built around the missions.

The IMP missile will be available to you to use as you progress through the plot(have you played chess lately? ;))

As to reforming your status - try killing pirates - everybody loves pirate killers (Hey, it's working for me :))

      ------------------

    • I'm actually running missions with Baxter's daughter right now, so I've already done the chess thing... the only problem with killing pirates is that I've gotten so unpopular with both the rigellians and the magellens(spelling?)That they all attack me on sight. My status on 50% of the planets is shoot on sight(although I'm still a celebrity in sol). I thought I saw something you could buy on an outlying world that improves your status with the major systems, but I don't remember where(any hints?)

      ------------------

    • You can buy IMP missiles, but you can't fire them until someone has worked out a way of building an IMP rack onto a civilian star ship.

      Which gives me an idea

I'll get back to you later in the plot.

Pirate Worlds are good for "I really am a nice person. Really." Cards. The only problem is they require tons of credits (>$1M) so I haven't found them useful. One more thing to do is don't return fire - run, run away. Every time you fire on a Rigellian and Magellans you get negative points to their respective governments. A fast ship is needed for this option.
The other thing that I think I have noticed is that time heals wounded pride so if you can waste years the other governments might forgive a little. Unfortunately you need a lot. :frown:

      ------------------

    • actually I make about 50,000 a day from dominated worlds, so money isn't a problem. I found Rastaban in the SE section of the map, but I'm still unsure as to where the other card is. Do you get better ships later on in the plot? I'm at the point right after getting the probe deblocker and I have to catch a ship in the Carinae system, but every time I get there, he ducks into hyperspace almost before I can even locate him on the radar. I was flying a modified Artemis, but I'm nowhere near catching this ship. Are there missions that you can't complete until you find better ships or am I just supposed to keep trying to do this over and over again?sorry, little frustrated.Any advice would be much appreciated.

This is off topic but... get the Tacyonic Fighter before attempting the Trelane rescue.

    • The Tachyonic Fighter is ridiculously powerful 🙂

    • And if you want to get a LOT of good points, blast astroids. I went from clean to Piller after blasting only about 20 astroids. Once I got the tachyon fighter I just sat in Sol-A for a week and killed astroids until 99% of the galexy liked me. Also, if you want rigil to like you faster you should go to altair.

    • Follow Emile's advice. (Great job, whoever you are...) There is a pirate world at the north edge of the galaxy (can't dominate) that has a Rigellian Signal Chip.

Yes, you will get better ships. One of Emile's brainchilds.

Gosh! Sell that Artemis! Didn't you read the read-me? Some missions are impossible with a 2-day jumper.

      "What?!"
"Jump-start it," Han said. "I'm going to jumpstart it."

    • Oh, and when you actually do get Implosion missiles, keep the following in mind.

      1. They're really, really slow.
      2. They have an obscenely huge blast radius.
      3. The collateral damage from one of these is more than enough to oblitherate you.

It's best to shoot these at large, stationary objects when you're really, really far away.

When you're playing Femme Fatale and get the Viper, keep in mind that you're escorts are too stupid to realize this. Observe:

Three Viper escorts jump into the system where one measly hostile ship is attacking you. They all launch implosion missiles. Seconds later, you are the only thing left for seven light-years around. Ouch.

    • Actually Frozen Heart is very single pathed. You dont really have a lot of choices to the storyline. About the Imp missles you get them after you have access to tachyonic fighter. And I recommend seriously that you get a tachyonic fighter for this plugin all the way, because 1) you can run away from all missles that are chasing you, so you dont have to fight people that you dont want to fight. 2) It is really powerful. 3) It is the best one day hyperspace jump ship.

Your status to the governments can be improved by keep killing pirates around the systems that are hostile. Once you killed enough pirates they will change gradually their status to you. And you can spend about 2 million in one of the pirates system for a Rigellian or Magellan card to wipe out your stauts against them. That means that you will be clean in their systems and they will not attack you!!
But the best thing to avoid governments running hostile to you is DO NOT BLOW THINGS UP JUST FOR THE SAKE OF IT. Only blow the things that you have to do in a mission.

One question in Femme Fatale that I am really stuck on. Where do you go after you land on a planet for the second AS (the planet below Alba). I know then you go to Alba, then to Rigel, then what?? Thanks.

    • This is a reply to several posts:

1: the IMP retention uses IMP BOMBS, not missiles. The missiles are unguided rockets, and the bombs are just bombs, with huge damage/blast radius. Two different types of ammo, so there are two different outfits. You can't use missiles until you get the Tach fighter and Emile gets you the IMP missile firer(whatever it's called)

Just fly around and get missions. To continue the AS line, you have to finish the murder investigation from Home(the planet) and the Painting missions. Then just fly around doing normal missions. I believe that you get the final freighter mission from Elanor De Quanat (Alana is disguise, and I'm not sure of the exact name) on Rigel.

And for anyone makeing a Plug-in: (I have to post this in a reply, because I'm not registered yet)

I am trying to make a plugin, and have to move the graphics from a PC to a Mac, but when I see them in the game, they look like garbage. I'm rendering in 16 bit, and my mac is on thousands of colors, and it can't go higher.
      How do I fix this?
      What am I doing wrong?
