    • Through the reckage Buba manges to climb into one of the control stations in his Warship. Pushing a dead pilot aside Buba tries to activate the back-up power but finds it gone as most of the ships was destroyed by the hellish fighters. Seeing a slightly bruised Arada still in the docking-bay Buba rushes towards it. He quickly climbs into the cockpit activating the power switch, the engines humming to life. As the Arada is deployed from the damaged Warship he looks on at the battle still raging on between the Ursa Defense Fleet and the seemingly invincible Oasa fleet. He decides to head for Ursa where he will land and prepare for the battle below.

Rooster, how does this armor stuff work? Can I wear some now??

"Where are they??" Alien asks.. "Hyperspace trails... several fleets have been here..." The navigator replies... "Activate fuel scoops and continue..."

    • You are always wearing a lifepad, but to go on hostile vessels or occupied planets (which would apply if oasa is sending ground forces) you will need a warsuit for protection. There should be one on your Arada, put it on and you will have personal shielding (mild) and life support. Use any ground weapon you choose within reason, since EVO doesn't include handhelds.

CONTINUATION: Rooster's ship has suffered several breeches, and it's obvious someone sabotaged the shields. Rooster puts on a warsuit and runs for the bay. The door slides open and a blue azdara begins to power as Rooster climbs in. He leaves the bay as phase beams beat at his shields and his second-in-command continues the attack...in vain. As the Azdara falls through the atmosphere a flaming piece of the Saratoga's frontal hull breaks through the center of a damaged Oasa Warship. The ground forces group on the planet as...

    • First of all, the character I am controling is called "The Intimidator" not Captain Carnotaur. But don't worry, I'll let you do that in just a second.

The Intimidator, after seeing both Roostersw and Bubaganoosh leave, decides there is only one person who can help; Captain Carnotaur.

Carnotaur was another Azdgari captain. A new one, The Intimidator was training him, so he was sort of an apprentice. We was almost ready to take the Azdgari Major Captain Tests, when all this stuff started happening.

Intimidator quickly activated a special emergency becon, that Carnotaur would detect and come quickly. Within a few hours, Captain Carnotaur arrived. The Intimidator quickly described what he needed to do: Go to Earth and take back six Voinian cruisers. Captain Carnotaur is bewildered on how to do this. He decides that he must go and get someone to help. Azdgari Warships (which both Intimidator and Captain pilot) are too noticable, and cloaks (which they both have, modified versions of UE cloaks) still wouldn't do much difference.

Captain Carnotaur leaves Intimidator and then goes off in search of someone who can help, maybe even a UE person. Captain realizes he must find Roostersw and Bubaganoosh.

    • Alien's fleet gives up chase, soon realizing that their ships would be too slow to catch up to Oasa's Fleet... So they turned around and went back to Earth..

Alien had a few calls to make.. All of them to the Elmalgha, who were also anxious to help the UE. Alien arranged for several fleets {4} of the new Elmalgha ships {Shining silver ships which rival UE destroyers and look remarkably like them} to patrol the deadspace between UE and Miranu worlds.

Range of patrol: Elmalgha to Freeport, circling around UE space.

Very funny, now beam down my clothes. These ladies look rest-less..... uh-oh...
      Alien's famous tongue...
"Vionions?? Voinioniommoins?? Viks? Veggies? Vegetables? Oh wait, that's a hewman plant...
      SEARCH..... THEN...... ASK!!!!

    • And then Captain Carnotaur hyperspaces into the same system that Alien is in. Captain Carnotaur hails Alien. "Hello Alien, my friend. I am Captain Carnotaur, son ( ;)*) and apprentice to The Intimidator. I am an Azdgari. I have a problem. It's this: The UE are holding 6 Voinian cruisers on Earth, and I need to get them. They are rightfully mine, but I don't want to go to war with the UE to get them. I need your help. Will you help The Intimidator and I?"

      ------------------
*Captain Carnotaur never usually admits that Intimidator is his father. He did it when talking with Alien to gain his trust. This also makes Carnotaur a mix of (mostly) Azdgari, Zidagar, and Igadzra, thus making him (like Intimidator) more powerful and smart than most Azdgari.

    • OK, I'm back and ready kick the good guys' butt!

roostersw/miranu: please clarify as to how much of my fleet remains, after the initial skirmish and destruction of two flagships, and the wounding of mine. AFAIK, no major battle has taken place, so I assume most of my fleet and most of the defense's is still alive - right?

...will continue my rampage as soon as I'm informed. 🙂

      ------------------

    • First of all, Oasa's fleet is much too large. It should only include below ten voinian ships if your gonna have all those CWs too. Oasa lost 2 warships, Rooster lost all fighter drones and the Saratoga is disabled but intact. Oasa's warships have all taken minor damage but the bloated penguin seems fully functional. Let's say Ursa's defense fleet is now merely 12 Aradas, but the ground forces are strong. Depending on the outcome, Oasa needs 3 Warships to match ground attack capabilities with the Ursans.

The Aradas begin to move closer...

    • Buba grabs armor and life support from his Azdara and quickly puts it on. Then taking his Heavy Blaster from his belt runs back to the Ursan outpost to begin creating a plan of defense for the army to engage in when or if Oasa's fleet lands.

*Heavy Blaster - Using the blaze turret technology this heavy blaster (two-handed) easily ranks as one of the most common weapons in ground defense. With a considerable amount of range and power (unlike the turret itself) it lacks in some aspects of accuracy and requires a very skilled mercenary to get a good shot out of it.

      ------------------
      "To the death!"
      "No! To the pain!!"

    • Rooster's Azdara begins to hum loudly and violently as it plummets to the ground. The engines were disabled, but shielding was coming back. Rooster was wondering if the ship could sustain the impact, but he doubted it. The hum came to it's loudest and the ship hit the ground. The shield bubbled warped and phased before it came offline and the ship impacted. Rooster sat hunched over the control board when the landing thruster light came back on. Falling out of the Azdara, Rooster grabs a warsuit, photonlance*, and a backpack with supplies and runs for the command base...

*Photonlance- A 3 foot rod with a photon blaster on one end used for heavy combat and bashing.

    • ---
I NEED all thirty ships, dammit! This planet is very important to my maste plan. But 10 is OK too.
      ---

A hail comes through to Ursla's ground denfence and the remaining Aradas. It's origin is the Bloated Penguin.

"Surrender now!" But the Aradas move ever closer...

Quickly, Oasa re-organizes his fleet (8 VCs, 3CWs, I think - Rooster?). They form a tight sphere, moving as though they were one unit. Each ship is within turret range of the one farthest from it.

Oasa's fleet rushes the remaining defense fleet, the cruisers' afterburners at full power. The Arada begin their attack charge, disperal rockets at the ready.

The menacing silence is broken by a five rocket salvo from the forward Voinan cruisers. Nimbly the Aradas avoid them, only to have their leader disabled by a second salvo. The disunited eleven remaining pilots charge angrily at the Penguin herself, only to be cut down by the combined power of twenty-five neutron turrets. Ursla's defense fleet was flattened before it could even make one pass at Oasamostexianu.

Hope this fight seems reasonable - I don't see how those Aradas, their weaponry useless against the VCs would be able to withstand twenty-five neutron turrets all firing on one target area. Will continue with the land invasion in a bit, if this is approved.

      ------------------

    • Seems reasonable but let's say just one of your minor-damaged CWs is now heavily damaged, eh? Also, you have 4 CWs in addition to the Penguin and the 7 voinians. That should leave you enough to be formidable in the ground attack, granted you send down at least three of the warships (out of the Penguin and 4 CWs). Those that you send down will remain in the atmosphere with a skeleton crew, the other officers on the ground. We're waiting on Buba now...

(I'm still on my way to the command center, but i'm close)

    • The Intimidator, hearing news of the battle over Ursa, decides to help fight Oasa (i.e. beat the tar out of 'em!).

Intimidator quickly gathers a fleet of 8 Azdgari Warships and 12 Azdgari Aradas, 20 vessels in all. With this massive fleet and the A.E.S. Intimidator to lead them, The Intimidator sends a message to Captain Carnotaur, advising him of what he is about to do, and then hyperspaces out. After about a dozen jumps, The Intimidator enters the Ursa system, and gazes upon Oasa's formidable fleet.

Normally, Voinian warships (i.e. All heavy Voinian vessels) would be able to smother an Azdgari fleet. However, Oasa did not count on the Intimidator having Voinian technology. Half the ships in his fleet were equipped with neutron weaponry. The Intimidator itself had Bronov plating, dospect plating, and Enhanced Neutron Turrets (left over from the Dreadnaught project).

"This is The Intimidator to all Ursa defenders: I making an assault on Oasas forces. All help from the Ursa defense fleet and other Ursa warships will be helpful. We are attacking now," Intimidators says over the com link. "Intimidator to the fleet, attack pattern Omega, engage!"

Intimidators fleet engages Oasas formidable warfleet. Phase bolts and neutron fly everywhere. The Intimidator maneuvers around an Azdgari vessel and then locks turrets on Oasas vessel. Firing off neutrons while spraying Oasa with Dispersal rockets, Oasas shields goes down to %80.

Suddenly three Voinian cruisers come about and start to pound the A.E.S. Intimidator. The Intimidator instantly turns around to fight off these attackers. With a lot of neutrons and some rockets the first cruiser disintigrates, while the other two attempt to move towards Oasa. The Intimidator responds by calling for three Azdgari warships. As these vessels move to either side of the Intimidator, the 2 Voinian cruisers take up position near Oasas now almost dead Crescent warship, as does another Crescent warship.

"Die!!!" The Intimidator yells and charges forward with his escorts...

    • Meanwhile, four more Azdgari warships hyper in. These contain Azdgari troops, one of the most feared in the galaxy. The Azdgari vessels avoid the fighting and quickly land on Ursa, where the ground forces are being assembled. In all, there are 6,000 Azdgari troops ready to defend the planet.

      ------------------

    • No extra crew, and no extra 4 ships so fast for carnotaur (also, try to space out your moves, your not giving alot of time to react :)). You'll have to send down the actual listed crew capacities of as many vessels as you wish to send down (warships for ground attacks only, no cruiser class).

Alright, Oasa's lost a Voinian Cruiser now, down to 6. They will stay in space however, while the warships go below for ground attack (i suppose).

CONTINUATION: Rooster runs through the access port of the command center and recieves orders to fly a Floatship*. He runs for the pad, and sees the massive warships coming down...

*Floatship: An attack variation of the ships that were noted to fly into the atmosphere at one of the planets in EVO and collect minerals. This one is equipped with minor explosives to drop and limited lasers.

    • rooster - I don't think Carnotaur can get there fast enough to beat the tar out of me in a space battle. Can you make him wait to ambush me until after I beat the tar out of Ursla?

Also, how many troops am I allowed, seeing as someone instantaneously arrived with 6000 troops. Each VC has about 900 crewers (netting me 'bout 6500 men), but can they be carrying extra troops also?

First of all, PLEASE REFER TO THAT CHARACTER AS "THE INTIMIDATOR"! NOT CARNOTAUR!! CARNOTAUR IS AT THE OTHER END OF THE GALAXY.
