    • 1.1 problems

I just tried the 1.1 upgrade for the first time, and I'm having crashes every few minutes. Also, there's some funky background sound that reminds me of a radio station that's full of static. It's still faintly there even when I turn the system sound all the way down.

G4 DP 533 with OS X 10.1. Nothing else running in the background when it's happening. And I didn't have any problems at all with the original version.

I have no problems on an iMac 400 DVSE with 196 megs ram-100 megs to PoG- on 9.1. How much ram have you given to it? Maybe your d/l was corrupted? Can't think of anything else to try sololady. Good luck

I have experienced this same effect, in both the original full download and the updated 1.0.1 version. For me however, the only place it occurs is in the plains of endless wind.
I just passed it off to the possibility that my comps. audio card was having problems interpreting the command to produce two sounds at the same time Wind/monster death cry. 🙂

Since it only happens for a brief moment and not all the time, (or even every time), I am in the area, I never bothered to mention it before. (I'm using a G3 running OS 9.1.)

    • I too have experienced this problem. It seems to occur when I engage in combat. PoG seems to sometimes forget to make the enemy's attack sound, then the static builds, usually, to the program's crash. Sometimes, when I restart PoG afterwards, there is no sound at all.

It also seems to be occuring more and more often.

      I'm using a 2|500 G4 running 10.1.1.

    • I have a dual 800 processor g4 10.1.1 and have the exact same thing with the freaky inbetween radio station sound then crash. Happens for no reason and intermittently. I think they have a bug in the program for dual processors or the sound. I hope they fix this. If there was a way to turn off the sound in the game. I would do it to see. Only thing I can do is turn down the volume or mute the game. IT happens in both full and small screen.

    • I think the strange sounds are a symptom of the larger problem. They always precede a crash on my machine.

I don't know what causes the problem, but I've believe that starting up PoG and then shutting down the program normally (without a crash) makes the problem go away. Obviously, this doesn't keep the problem from forming, but, for a while, you should be able to play, free of the bug.

      Hmm.... Maybe not.

    • I found a temporary solution that may help you guys for the dual processor crashes.
Hit the P key several times as you start to hear the static noises. It halts the crash and you can continue as normal till you can save.

I still want them to update the patch. But I have used the P key (pause) method for some time and seems to do the trick.
      Hope that helps.
