    • Frozen Heart Infection Mission

I'm having trouble with this EVO Frozen Heart Mission....
Whenever I enter the system (can't remember it's name) the ship with that person I'm supposed to rescue comes in, but then zooms off the edge of the screen, farther than I can go.

How do I board this ship (WITHOUT hacking the plug)???

      Thanks.

    • A fairly fast ship, and afterburners.

A Tachyonic Fighter can help a lot.

    • he can't get the tachyonic fighter because since FH has one plot and mission string and the fighter mission is after the infection mission

The only thing keeping me from the Fighter is the credits 😄 ... did I do something wrong 😕 ?

What do you clasify as a "fast ship", anyways?

    • When I did it I had the Tachyonic fighter and it was a breeze (using the autopilot also makes it even easier to catch up with the ship).

So, you can get the Tachyonic fighter before this mission. I don't know if you can do it without the fighter. One thought - hit it with a rocket or two when its right on you - that might disable it if you don't have a fast ship... Use unguided ones so you don't have to worry about targeting it either...

      Good suggestion. I'll try that.
Also, do you know how I can get the 2 million for the Tacyonic Fighter?

    • Well, Emile gave you 1 million, so I did a million instruct trade pilots/traniee missions.
Those pay 50 thousand and 35 thousand, respectivly. No combat involved!

What "Instruct pilots/traniee" missions 😕 ? Am I (again) missing something?

    • Well, the pilot instruction missions originate from mission computers. I believe you first encounter them in the very first system you start the game in, but I could be wrong.

Just do as many missions as possible; believe me when I say it'll take a Loooooong time to get to the fighter. However, if you'd gone through the game really really slowly (e.g. mapped out every frigging system in the galaxy before advancing the plotline) and snapped up as many bar missions as possible, you'll get the fighter. Keep in mind it is utterly impossible to finish the game w/o the fighter.

This mission, it involves famous scientist stuck on plague ship she's just barely managed to get out of hyperspace, yes? In case you didn't notice, this ship moves absurdly fast. Here's how I did it:

As soon as you lift off, point your ship south and go full throttle, full afterburner immediately. Maxing out speed and manoeuverability upgrades useful here. When the ship finally does jump in, it will (unbelievably) STILL outrun you, even at max speed! This is where the tractor beam comes in! Simply lasso the ship, disable it (CAREFULLY! A missile will acutally blow it to atoms), then slowly drag it to a halt before bording.

    • Hey, Folks, what about just playing a bit of the game before getting restless? Getting the answers here spoils the whole fun, my opinion. Just fly around, visit all of the planets and all of the bars and it will all just happen. Promise.

I just love Thunderstorms. Don't you?

    • I've beaten Frozen Heart ages ago but I can't remember how to get the Tech Fighter. Where do I get it after I beat Emilie in chess? On that infectious mission I landed and left on the planet and that ship pulled up right next to me.

One problem: the system won't let me land w/o a bribe :frown: . Is this a problem?

    • If you're short of cash for the tachyon fighter, why not get a few tractor beams?

I fiddled around with trying to catch that ship for ages, until I had that idea. Did it.

    • I wish there was a way to lock your own topic; I've finished this mission, though I'm having trouble with the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum8/HTML/002004.html") Hunter/Killer Mission(s?) (/url) .

    • if you need credits in FH/FF, than just disable a lugsery(sp) liner. They usually carry over 1M credits. You can get one alone in the centauri system, but you have to visit it a few times before you see one.

Yeah. Get a Rim Prospector and sell the tractor beams. Repeat. The Tractors are twice the price of the ship. Easy money.
