This is sort of deviating from the original subject (not that that has not been done before) but has anybody thought that maybe, EVO (at least the VERY beginning) might beinfluenced by the early stages of World War II? By the very beginning I mean the UE-Voinian war as described by the introduction test.
- Early Voinian advance, as described by the text, bears an uncanny resemblance to the Nazi blitzkrieg- a relentless, sudden devestation that seems unstoppable. (In 1939-1940 the Nazis had virtually a 100% victory record)
- The Battle of Sol almost parallels the Battle of Britain. You can just switch names and it is the same- UE/British Fighters/Spitfires defeat Voinian/Nazi warships/bombers over the UE/British capital of Earth/London. Also, after the Battle of Sol the text says that the tide of war turns- obvious to the UE side. Likewise, after the Battle of Britain the British isles were never seriously threatened again (not to say they were not attacked again- the V1 and V2 missile attacks come to mind- but it was never anyhting like ti was during what Churchill called Britain's "finest hour")
- The only thing between Pax station (formerly the jumping-off point for Voinian attacks) and the Sol system is an empty solar system- just like the only thing between (Nazi-occupied) France and Great Britain was the English channel
Just putting down my thoughts on this long-dormant post
God bless,
UE Patriot
