the first time I destroyed it was with a UE Carrier with various crescent ships as escorts (I know, they're not good on armor, it was the first time). But know, I usually destroy it alone in a UE Destroyer, I take off all weapons, buy a Hunter Missile Launcher and LOTS of Hunter Missiles, I let the Destroyers get killed and then I start firing Hunter Missiles. That's one of the many possible strategies, anyway, u should have searched for this as this has been answered.

I just waited a while, and found another mission destroying a voinian group in the same system. You are then sent with twice the number of human help, and nobody leaves untill all the voinians are gone, so you don't really need to do any work yourself.

but if it is in the same system you'll also have twice the number of voinians

Yes, but the humans always have survivors when they attack. There will be twice the number of Voinians, but they will be at a disadvantage, and you will have extra help.
