I dont think this is the right place for asking but since all of you probably have an email address I'm asking anyway: What do you guys reckon is the best place to get an email address. Hotmail is out of the question because all the good nicknames are already taken. Excite is alright but you can only attach files up to 1.5 MB and that are too low in many cases. The @mac.com, I cant get working but a friend of mine says its pretty good, with 20MB attachments possible. I have 2 Excite emails, had a Hotline one awhile ago but I lost it and the LycosMail is **** so I stopped using that farely quickly! I will start a new one but I want your opinions before I choose which one I shall use...

I know what you're talking about. Sucks doesn't it? Yahoo!Mail is good, but at the moment I'm using Angelfire. Hence my rare responce to my emails.

Just follow these steps to keep yourself from being screwed in the future:

1. Get one that you plan on keeping for a long, long time. Otherwise you will have to tell EVERYONE you ever gave your email to what it is.

2. Keep one that will last along time. If it is a crappy one from some brand new, or free ISP service etc... it probably will go bankrupt by the time you really need it

3. Get one you can access ANYWHERE. You do not want something you can only access from your computer. You will oneday realize who important that is

-Anyone know if it is possible to check your @mac.com email via webpage..etc .. not through the POP server?

Or of course, you could do what I did.

Buy a website, and create one for yourself. Don't do it exactly the way I did it though. Make sure yours gives you an SMTP server too...

Why don't you just go and sign up to a free ISP, but only use it's mail services and use your regular ISP for your dial-up.

I'd suggest getting a yahoo email address for your long lasting one, I've had my chamrin@yahoo.com email for a long time, and despite the limit of 3 megs max in your inbox, it has served me well. And the other place I recommend is (url="http://"http://www.crosswinds.net")http://www.crosswinds.net(/url) sign up for a free webpage, they give you unlimited space and no ads what so ever, but they are still kind of slow when you try updating your page. Just visiting websites is plenty fast though. I expect them to get better, as they oubviously are trying to get things working, they just take a while. They do however have a really good email server, which many crosswinds members don't use. I am able to send out easily with it and receive things immediately.
