If you want to side with the Zidagar, got to Pozdag-3. Be warned, you have to destroy an entire renegade fleet alone. If you want to be an azdagari (the best one ;)) go to south tip station. Have a scoutship or an arada if you do that one. I'm not sure how you become an Igadzra though.
If you want to be a voinian, get the v.defector mission. Go to the bar. You can also get v.missions at Pax. DON'T RETURN THE V.DEFECTOR TO THE UE. You will never get voinian missions afterwards.

to get the Igadzra, ya hafta save New Calcutta, ta do that ya gotta first become part of the Miranu Trading Company, and then hang around Himgro, im pretty sure, though i should know cuz i allied with them in my current game. and Jive, the Adzgari are tha worst! i mean, theyre still cool, but they dont give ya any weapons, and the only ship is the azdara. sure the bays cool, but its nothing compared to SAEs or Zid. ECM systems, plus, the shield generator doesn't stay with you when ya trade ships, unlike the plasma siphon. Theyre still cool, but definiteley not the best

How do you get the Warship? Anyways neither. I prefer the UE Cruiser with RCS upgrade, Thrust upgrade, Engine upgrade, and Azdi. upgrade. Along with 3 pursuit missile launchers, 100 pursuit missiles, 5 phase cannons, and the UE fighters.
I do agree that you don't get that much technology but if you have a small ship, like an arada, it's sweet.

Are you sure that the missions to save New Calcutta are the ones you have to do? I've done that string before (had already done the Zidagar missions in that pilot file), so I have difficulty imagining how that would have much to do with joining the Igadzra. I'll try it, though, cause they're the only strand I haven't played yet...

The new-calcutta string has nothing to do with Igadzra. You have to have an excellent combat rating, if you do, go to the Kitrak bar. By the way, the Igadzra really suck in 1.0.2. Go to South Tip Station, and join the Adzgari.

The Miranu central objective can be found in Miranu space after you have a good combat rating/good reputation 4 miranu etc. The mission says something about Imir, your Miranu constact, and 500,000 credits. It also syays to stay away from the Zigidar, as they will scan you, but it really doesn't matter. Though it sounds like a smuggling mission, no one is annoyed by it, and it's a central objective.
BTW, in the EVO site, there is a large image under guides called EVO Mission Map. The url is

IN the upper right hand corner, it talks of "Disaster 139, council news". I poked around w/resedit, and found this STR:
"Much speculation has ensued after the mysterious Council, making its first announcement in centuries, declared it is considering the future of the Strands."The GIF shows black lines leading from the three different Strand Strings to that box that seems to say that u need the support of all three strands or something, or that you need to have fufilled 1 Strand string to get the mission/message.
Anyone have any experience with this mission?

**(/quote)Doesn't sound like a mission to me, but rather it sounds like a holovid news announcement. To the best of my knowledge, the Council was left purposfully ambiguous, so that plugin developers could make something of it. So I would be surprised if there actually were a mission associated with it...

So that's what he was talking about. Yeah. It's just a Holovid message right after you complete the strand central objective. Nothing special. It's just like what happens every time you beat a central objective. I was confused about the whole website, line, thing.
I got a question. I tried to take over a planet today (Gorky) by demanding tribute ('cause that's what I heard you're supposed to do). Well after about an hour or so, I defeated all of the defence guys. I pressed tab about 20 times and nothing was there. I tried to land but it denied me. I talked to it and it was still hostile. How are you supposed to conquer these planets?
