    • Loosing Money

      why me?!?!

straight up N00b status... i just started playing like 2 hours ago.... i know i need to trade, and i know how to make money, and im sure the reast is intuitive.... EXCEPT!! when i start the game i have 25000 credits right? then in a matter of minutes (literally) it is gone.... it just slowly depletes until i get stranded out in some galaxy with no moey no energy, and no goods to sell....

wtf is goin on... is this something i can prevent, is there some secret, am i being hacked? what..... anyway, i have gone through 5 or 6 pilots.... i have never completed the trading tutorial because of this.

help is MUCH MUCH MUCH appreciated. Thank you.

    • To start off you need to either trade goods (low to high) between planets/systems or take missions to other places which you can get in the mission computer. Examples of such missions would be taking passengers to another system or taking cargo to another system.

Exploration is only part of the game.

    • fuel costs money (100 credit a jump, I think). Every time you refuel, you pay. You need to find a way to get money.

    • It looks to me that you're trying to follow the training tutorial a little too closely, a little too literally...basically the problem is, as everyone is already trying to tell you, that you don't have enough money for effective trading. If you're hiring ships, you're going to be paying a daily fee on having them as escorts. Also, just jumping around through the galaxy eats up your money as well.

I would usually start off the game by doing simple missions from the Mission Computer (after accepting them, check your Map; the destination you have to go to for each mission is indicated by a red arrow).

Once you have enough money, then you can start playing around with trading. Just keep an eye out on your money; make sure you have enough the sustain your escorts, your fuel, and one full load of cargo (otherwise you won't make enough return to pay for your costs). Basically, trade smartly -- and you'll do just fine.

    • I can sit there and watch my money disapear....i litterally can't make a hyperjump more than three times before my credits are gone.... The principles of the game are not hard to understand. Its the fact that my money is disappearing.... i don't have any cargo, i don't have any escorts... i have nothing but that tutorial guy, and my s### is loosing money....

also i have register the program, and the little guys keeps telling me to register and pay my dues. wtf....

    • You are starting with 25,000 credits? Are you playing Nova? A safe way to earn cash is to head west (left) from Earth, to the Wild Geese station (I can't remember the name). Then go south. One of the planets will ask you to do some cargo runs to help them terra firm the planet at the center of the cluster of systems you are in. Eventually, you can transport colonists for 75,000 a pop. That is a safe way to start without joining any faction, and you stay in somewhat safe space.

I think you can also head to Polaris and trade opals.

You can also hail ships, sometimes they will ask you to help transport cargo.

By realizing that you are a n00b you are no longer a n00b, you are a newb.

    • tighten your belt.

other than that, dump the game, reinstall and restart it. your code will still work if you registered it.
