    • Neutron Torpedos- are they any good

      E2- Dark Horizons question

Another E2 question. Got the Neutron Cruiser. Want to kit it out. But first, I want to know if Neutron Torpedos are any good. The Neutron Cruiser has 4 launchers, which means it should launch insanely fast. It has 44 Torpedos, which should last trough a single firefight. If they arent good, I get a sweet 174 tons (!) of weapon space. To make the decision easier, here are the stats:

      Reload 100
      Count 850
      MassDmg 175
      EnergyDmg 100
      Guidance 1
      Speed 625
      Inaccuracy 0
      Impact 125
      Prox radius 5
      Blast radius 10

    • What I did with my Neutron Cruiser was to outfit it completely first (turrets, Neutron fighters, shield upgrades, the works) and then to use any left over space for the Neutron torps. Compared to regular torps, they aren't that much better so I don't use them that much (of course I prefer to attack at close range with turrets and beams). Personally I prefer to use the energy mines you can get at New Evildrome.

    • MacDevil has my opinion. I tend to overhaul my ship with extra shields, armor and primary/infinite ammunition weapons before looking to add limited projectiles.

My opinion in that plug is that the Neutron Cruiser has plenty of space without sacrificing the neutron torpedoes, but you get a larger damage ratio with regular torpedoes. Sure, you wont fire nearly as fast, but you'll have more than twice the ammo. While this works against normal opponents, Tim is known for his "Boss Ships" that have massive fire power and regeneration rates. That said, you may be better off in the long run if you go ahead and keep the 4 launchers and use neutron torps.

If you can understand what i just tried to explain, well, you must have a rather organised train of thought to unravel the tangled words within this post.

    • I don't use any secondary or ranged weapons, personally. I kit my ship out with all the turrets and shield/armor/performance upgrades I can find.
