When I create a system using ev-edit, I go to try it out , but as soon as I jump into the system I just made, the game crashes saying something about a type 11 error. What the hell is going on?

You're using EV-Edit. You NEVER want to use EV-Edit. It will screw up almost any plugin you make. You REALLY don't want to be using it. Delete it, it will save you a lot of effort.
If you want to make plugins for EV, a good choice would be Mission Computer. It can be found (url="http://"http://davidarthur.evula.net/")here.(/url)
Now, the problem could be that you're doing something wrong when you make the system, which causes the game to crash. But you should first see if it is simply a problem as to which program you have used. If it keeps happening after using Mission Computer, go to the Developer's Corner and ask for help.

Something horrible has apparently happened to EV-Edit since the last time I used it, because it always worked perfectly for me. Maybe it's because I used it on a horrible computer that should have never been built (6200CD PowerMac), so the product of their suckiness made it good. Two negatives make a positive; why should two sucks make a non-suck?

Type 11 error can actually be anything in PowerPC code. EV-Edit is just unreliable enough that there is no point to use it. And two sucks should make a super-suck, not the other way round.

If you were subtracting one suck from the other, it would make super-suck. If you multiply two sucks together, you get something good.

This is all, of course, in theory.

I have got mission conputer and res edit just to help awell. I find it hard to place pictures in mission conputer so i would start the plug in ev edit but finish it in mission conputer and clear up the bugs in res edit. I also would use ev developers map to modify the systems
