    • What are...

      Hi.

I've just started playing PoG because my brother just registered it, and I'm not doing at all well. I'm sorry if this has already been answered somewhere but I've found some things (I couldn't find them in the documentation) that, on the map, say '...entrance'. I've found three so far, and I have no clue what they do, but when I went into one my computer showed (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/mdwgmalc/.Pictures/inside_<whatever>.gif")this(/url) and played music until I quit. :frown: Could anyone tell me what they do or how to use them or what they are or anything about them? Please!? :frown:

Oh yeah, (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/mdwgmalc/.Pictures/<whatever>_entrance.gif")this(/url) is what they look like before I enter them! 🙂

      - P.P.

    • Also, I'm having trouble with the quest on building the Bridge where I have to kill ten Ookwasps... that shows how badly I'm doing!

      - P.P.

<edit> Oh yeah! My problem is I can't kill all the Ookwasps - those giant things get in the way all the time! </edit>

They are used to travel from one point to another in Garendall in a single click. The picture shows you found only one entrance -- just click on its name (Gwyden Camp) to return there. You'll find additional entrance as you progress in the game...

OK, thanks... but I really thought I found another one or two somewhere... I dunno... 🙂
Will I be able to click on the different point things as I discover them? I'm sorry if I sound incredibly ignorant -- I've just started playing and I really don't know very much about the game, except it's absoulutely great!
      Thanks again!

      - P.P.

    • Well I've been looking for quite a while, now, but I haven't found any more of those entrances. :frown: I also tried to do the Bridge quest (from Gwyden Camp) again (because I can never complete it! ) The problem is, if anyone can help me (which I don't doubt), I can go into the area with the bridge and the Ookwasps, but (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/mdwgmalc/.Pictures/horrible_monster.gif")these guys(/url) keep getting me before I can get all the Ookwasps... then I see (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/mdwgmalc/.Pictures/dead.gif")this(/url)... again. :frown:  Does anyone have any tips on how to kill them? Also, I'm stuck with the quest I got after I'd told the soldiers in Gidolan Keep and they've made the blockade (I'm sorry - I'm not very good with names, yet and I've probably made some mistakes! :frown:)) and I have to 1. Rescue 'someone in need' or something, (I can't find them) and 2. 'Get help from the lumberjacks in Gwyden Camp' for the Gidolan Keep blockade, I just don't know how to do this quest - I've got to Gwyden Camp and there I got the quest to kill the Ookwasps and I don't know if I have to complete that or what... :frown: 😕

    • PP ok first things first. Welcome and your not doing that bad you just need to focus on one quest at a time. The Mole tunnels or ancient tunnels you have to go into the enterance (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/mdwgmalc/.Pictures/<whatever>entrance.gif") this (/url) to active the tunnels then just click the pin of the new area (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/mdwgmalc/.Pictures/inside<whatever>.gif") this (/url) where you want to go.

the Ookwasps look different than regular wasps (i think there are just 8 of them) they do not reappear once killed (the bridge is 1n 2w of the camp) the Ookwasps and the bridge are on a screen by themselves (no other monsters) so (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/mdwgmalc/.Pictures/horrible_monster.gif")these guys(/url) are not on the bridge screen. Pog has monsters that increase in str as you do if you find you are getting beat up check your Quest log and try a different Quest maybe its not time to do the one your atempting. As for Quest Monsters (ie Ookwasps, Goblins for 'roadkill Quest') i try to draw them off one at at time then kill them. if all else fails run away eat more cheese at try again. As for the 'Rescue Manko' Quest thats is all the back down in Fatrima the first town you were in (the little bugger has himself captured by goblins 1 w of the town talk to his mom over by the merchants shop.) then talk to The captain of the guard again. Sometimes it helps to talk to NPCs two or three times especially if you just completed a Quest for them (theyll sometimes give you something else to do.)

TIP O' The Toaster "Cheese gives you the most bang for your gold at low lvls"

hope i helped check back and let us know how it goes.

    • Well I now I've got ssome more questions...

      1. Does having more experience give you anything except for more health?
      2. I'm not very strong because I can't afford good weapons (I have already got up to the Blacksmith who's not in Fantrima but his stuff is all WAY too highly - priced for me; the only thing I could afford (and I wanated) was the Dwarven War Axe.
      3. Are there any other Blacksmiths other than the one in Fantrima and that place North-West that I can't remember the name of...
      4. I think I read about a Tent or something somewhere ( :mad:I can't remember where! ) how do I get it if it is real?
      5. Where is that witch Kalixa? (SP? I mean the one who the Merchant in Fantrima mentions.)

      That's all.

      - P.P.

      1. Nope. Just more health. You want to get as much as you can to be able to combat bigger monters.
      2. Kill alot of monsters and get their gold and pick up the weapons they drop and sell them to the blacksmiths. Also, make sure you turn over the rockpiles and walk over the holes to pick up the buried treasure.
      3. No. Well, the witch Kalixa has really good potions and some special items you can buy but she doesn't deal in weapons for sale. She does buy them from you though.

      4. You get the tent after completing a quest for the General Decimus, a guy you have to find and rescue for the guy below Fantrima that sent you off to Guyden Lumber camp. These are two seperate guests BTW. After you rescue the General, make sure you talk to the Captain who sends you after him, then go talk to the General. He will be just above the trees surrounding the captains house.

      5. Kalixa the witch is one screen South and I think three west(Might only be two) of the Plains of Endless winds tunnel entrance. When you get all the way west you will find a cave. Go down, kill the monsters then look for the two exits. One goes up to the witch.

Hope this helps. Didn't want to be too detailed and spoil all the fun for you.

just a little correction, the witch, Kalixa, doesn't sell weapons, but she does sell some of the best armor you can get in the game (sheilds, boots, rings, head-dresses, a certain special artifact that is crucial in winning the game, that i wont mention for fear of giving the whole game away) as well as the potions and elixers already talked about

I have a quest, now (after getting the lumberjack one right, finally :)), and I must find a General for that guy - I've looked a bit in the swamps (I can't remember their name right now...) but all I can find is those Zombie guys (I'm using the Claymore (SP?) of Light so they're quite an easy to get +35 XP :D) and I need help finding the General. I haven't looked on all the map... almost all of it, though... :frown: 😕

      - P.P.

      BTW. Thanks gimli1217!

    • Its the second map into the swamp, just look at your map and look at the places you havent explored yet, it around the middle of the map.

OK I've got it now... but now I'm stuck on that General! I just got him down to 0 health - I mean, there wasn't any on his Health bar - but then he killed me with a 19 damage hit! The maximum I can do is 22 (my sword says it'll only do up to 20, though... 😕 (It's the Claymore of Light)) do you, or does anyone else, have any tips or tricks for killing him? What weapon is he using? It looks pretty cool.

You take a health potion every time your health is so low that your in danger of being killed in one or two hits, and make sure there strong potions, or you wont gain health fast enough, and just keep whacking him. Like 40 potions heal 10 at a time, 80 potions do 40 at a time.
Deathknights just use deathknight swords. 😛

Where's the nearest place to get some? I'm not doing too badly cash - wise... but I've had more that 700 before... (that's what I've got right now)

What damage do 'Deathknight Swords' do?

      - P.P.

    • he's usin sum special blade that you can never get (although you might if they come out with a plug-in to do that, by the way that reminds me another thing they should do in the trinity plug in is show the weapon that ur usin). UMMMMMMM...... go buy healing stuff (healing concoctions, potions, and poultices are ur best bet) and get a higher armor class by buying more/better armor (i know its easier said than done cuz of all the money you need, but thats just all i can think of) if you want a good deal on armor you could try savin up for the holy cloak (works really well with undead).

also, in case you want to know, the dude ur havin trouble with is actually the general, in a bewitched form. Oh ya and u might also try saving just bfore u get 2 the general so that if you die you dont have to go all the way through the crypt (its a time saver), however the game wont let you save near him, or any other creature in the game for that matter, so you have to be out of visual range of him

Yes but not all that many compared to the amount of other creatures in the game (the only exception to this is of course, SEA GIANTS)
