First off, loving the game. Played through the shareware and had to keep going.
Im having trouble with this mission though. I have the 3rd Vell-os ship and the 3rd Vell-os beam weapon but the Polaris ships eat through that like paper. What am i supposed to do in this mission? If i fight every encounter on the way to the mission target system, im half dead with no darts left and im taken out by the first barrage of 90 Polaris missiles, when i enter the target system, that can keep going and going and going like the freaking energizer bunny. If i bypass all the system by doing hotjumps all the way to the mission system, i dont do part of the mission statement, and when i get there the only way to survive is to run like hell, for if i stand still or even come within radar viewing distance, the Polaris kill me in a few seconds.
I got lucky one time and through targeting and ordering all ships to attack while i flew far far away. I took out most of their capital ships, and all friendly ships were destroyed. I flew back and there were still some there that were giving trouble so i decided to kite(MMORPG term sorry) them around to destroy them. POLARIS REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVED. How the hell am i supposed to beat all of this stuff when the Polaris FIGHTERS can drop my shields by 10-15% each run, and any large ships can destroy me in under 5 seconds.
Did i miss some patch that lowers their power or am i just doing this wrong?
