Yeah, I remember playing it. I had to go in a fix about a dozen things before it was properly playable :rolleyes: The super-ship you were offered wan't there, missions didn't show up in the right place and/or went to the wrong place, but it was a good premise for a plug, with lots of good ships (Huge rebel carrier ruled!)

At the time, it was a great plugin. Like Micky, I had to fix a few problems before I could play though it through, though.
Things got interesting about a year after it's release when I signed on with Skyhawk, it's creator, to do a sequel. the first few months of development went smoothly and then, he got a bit over-ambitious. He began to program his own engine for the game, code-naming it Epsilon, and shortened the name from "final battle 2: Xenocide" to just Xenocide. At that point, things got a little crazy, nobody knew what was going on, and the development team began to fall apart. Epsilon made it to the point of being a pretty simple asteroids clone called Hazard before that, like Final Battle 2, died. We had some great EV-Plugin talent working on that project... Skyhawk, Regulus, Jos Delbar...
It's too bad that the good 'ol days of EV are ancient history. At least we have the occasional nonstalga post floating around on the boards. I love these.

I'd love to if I had the time but at the moment, my life is swamped. I've been picking at things here and there but I'm hesistant to begin working on the big problem: The NR/League mission string clashes. It ain't pretty and it's going to require almost a complete re-write of both strings. Soon as that's done, though, it'll be ready for the masses. I'll definately let you know when I've got the time to spare for it though.

Hehe, we're getting stuck in the same old NR trap. I'm still alive though, but I am starting to get busy again.
The plug-in is still rather fun to play...if only we could figure out how to resolve these mission issues...
I suppose just to have something to show for all this time, I should probably go back and retouch another target pict or two. If anyone wants me to do that, just let me know where I can find the latest version.
