So I heard a rumor that the Windows version of EVN would include plugins for the original EV and EVO (eg, so you could play those games). Is that true? As a long time player/buying of the older games, I'd -love- to be able to play those via EVN on Mac OS X. What's the chance of that?
If this rumor was just a fever dream and such a thing doesn't exist, then someone let me know!

It sure is true. Take a look at (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum26/HTML/010865.html#")this topic(/url) on the Nova Board and look at the "unknown" screenshots and movies. Also in development is a plugin convertor from EV/O to EVN (at least I think it's still in developement) so you'll be able to port other plugins over to EVN as well. Also, for Nova questions. you might want to visit the Nova webboard instead of posting here....oh, and welcome to the Ambrosia Webboards!

Won't ASW be a little pissed off that Windows users are getting EV/EVO for free, so long as they buy nova? I know I will be. I spent good money on those two games and I don't like the idea of Windows users getting $60 off just because someone wanted to make a plug-in.

Ambrosia's been aware of this project from the beginning, and given it their blessing. Plus, the plug-ins will be available both for Mac and Windows - they were begun long before EV Nova for Windows was even announced.

Well, it'd actually be $35 off ($20 for EV, $15 for EV to EVO upgrade). I'd recommend to Ambrosia that they keep this plug-in thing on a traditional shareware concept -- you know, the kind of shareware that you send in money if you like it; I'm sure some people are still true to that.

Well, considering Ambrosia already decided on porting EV and EVO to Nova even before it was out, no.
I think the ports, when out, will add more reason to buy Nova and increase sales.
