How do I get the Confed Frigate? I cant find the string.

Welcome to the boards, (I've always wanted to say that
)If you are playing original Escape Velocity without any plug-ins then you gain acess to the confed Frigate the smae time you gain access to the cruiser, patrol ship and gunboat. To do this you have to destroy an Alien Cruiser. The start of that thread of missions is available on Mars and is called "investigate dissapearences" Also if you haven't got the particle beam yet you'll need to do those missions first. Hope this was of some help.

You should have already started the Confed mission string which begins with transporting documents and then the Rebel Pursuit mission for the particle beam. As for the combat status you need it to be deadly at least and have either an upstanding citizen or role model I think. The mission has a random factor of 25% so you might not get it until after a couple tries.

The first mission, which you get on a spaceport bar (I think independent worlds are okay) when approached by some Confed operative who wants you to do this transporting documents task, doesn't require much of a combat rating or legal status, if I remember correctly. After that you get access to the Confed mission strings, some of which will require the higher ratings like the ones firestorm mentioned.
