They used liquid fuel instead of solid fuel to cut costs. Liquid fuel is very volatile, some oxygen managed to get in contact with it, the torpedo blew up and that caused a chain reaction throughout the torpedo bay, which sank the sub.

It's rather ironic that you spend hundreds of millions (billions?) on a nuclear sub and then have it sink because you use tacky fuel 😛

    • I have used the names, Captivator, Meditator, Enforcer, Executioner, Shadow, Avanti, Avantis, Avantisin, Firehammer, Torpedo, Laser and last but not least Eradicator.
      Pretty cool eh??

    • I usually name it after the color of the ship: a black ship the Ominix (ominous onix), green, Verdant Threat on my adzgari cruiser. I don't even remember what I used in original ev, its been a while. I know I used Monitor a lot.

    • When playing EVO, I would name my Zidara "Nexium." After all, it is a purple ship, right? Whenever I get a black/dark gray ship, I usually call it "Atramentous" (black). It also sounds like the name of a large ship.

      - Fury of Sauron
      - Hand of Liberty

How 'bout "Deimos Rising?" I think I've heard that name somewhere before! Now where did I hear it...hrmmm...

I think its commin' from a game on Nintendo64 called "MACE". One of the fighter is a dark lord:"Lord Deimos". Sort of barbarian!!

The name I usally create are comming from oter games with some modification...or not like "Caleddwlch"(the 2nd sword of Arthur).

    • I usually just name my ships Pufervian followed by a roman numeral (if its the sixth ship owned by a pilot file it is Pufervian VI).

An excellent name would be "After You," so that whenever someone asks what you named your ship, you can say, "Don't you know? I named it After You." Then they say "You named it Johann Gambolputty...?" then... well its self explanatory after this point, and loads of (stupendously dull) fun.

I should go there. However I think I will name my next ship Tirpitz, which was the sister ship to the Bismarck.

I like the Notorious name. It reminds me of some pers ships like R.S.S.Courageous or U.S.S. Avenger.

    • If I remember correctly, there was one plug where the pirates (Privateer Consortium) used P.S.S. before the name. In Tim Isle's Empire series, the Terrans use T.S.S.. In his plug "Realm of Prey," the ships of the Earth Confederacy use T.S.S.! I guess Tim either neglected to rename them, or decided to let it stay.
