Hey all,
I have just got back into Escape Velocity and I was wondering where I could find a walkthru for the Rebel campaign?
Thanks,
Gandalf
BTW the game is not registered if that effects anything.

What Cade said. An unregistered version doesn't exclude anything, but after 30 days Captain Hector (it's a she by the way ;)) will start attacking you

no, in EV it's 30 days or over 100 hours.

Thanks guys!
I have one more question. The list of missions for the rebels, are they in cronological order? the reason I ask is that I have already completed the second mission, and was never asked about the first one. (in other words I was never dragged away by feds.)
Thanks,
Gandalf

They are. That one's only if you're in the middle of the Confed mission string and have the stupidity to hang out in a Rebel Bar

She didn't attack me until the day before I got my code...two and a half years after I installed the game.

It's been quite a while for me, on one of em. I have two, registered and unregistered. The unregistered one I've had for 666 days and 150 hours. Never been attacked. I know She does stuff in EVO and EVN after 30, though.

Ok,
I was looking at the walkthru and I found that mission 3 that you start in Levo only has an 8% chance of happening!??! So two questions: first is there any way of either skipping that one, or improving the odds of it showing up? And second, what do I need to do to make it recalculate the chance that the mission will show up? Just go in and out of the space bar? Land at the system, leave and land again? Jump out then jump in again? Complete another mission? Or what?
Thank you very much for the help,
Gandalf

Jump out and in again. If you want to increase the odds to get the mission, change the AvailRandom in ResEdit. The max is 100 (meaning you get it every time), but 50% should be enough.

Cool, I will try that when I get home, and if I still can't get the mission I will try the edit idea.

A better way of improving your mission odds is to accept a passenger mission from the mission computer, then abort it. It resets all of the missions (both the ones offered at the bar and the ones in the mission computer). I used to do it all the time so that I could get more missions that fit with my existing flight plan (ie: I already had a course plotted, and wanted missions that were on the route).

Plus or minus. It means that the actual number will be a little bit more or less than the displayed value.

I do this too (as well as replace the warp in and out with small beeps to cut down on wasted time). But is it consitered cheating?
What say you all?

I prefer raising my Rebellion legal status to something like "Upstanding Citizen". It helps me find the missions leading up to the aliens and the tractor beam.
I played for 2 months without registering  and Hector never attacked me. After I bought it, I miss seeing her flying by and saying "Don't forget to register your copy of Escape Velocity!". sigh

Its not. Its just a far less tiresome way of getting a mission than jumping. Making the beep in and out short is not cheat either, because the long jumps are really tiresome. Thats why Lightning Jump exists.
