    • Possible GS bug

Hmm, So im doing the Mission Diphidian blocade where you have to kill 15 aztex "convoy" ships, i've done this and i go back, land on Diphidia 2 expecting to get my reward. I dont! Quite pissed off I go back to the system and destroy EVERYTHING that moves (excluding asteroids 😛 ). I then go back to Diphidia 2 and still i dont get a response! Is there some kind of unexpected mission thread ending there, or what?

Any and All help is appreciated PLZ i really really really want a Firebrand ship as it would appear to be the best purchaseable ship.

    • Are you sure you killed all Astex ships when you first got the mission and left to orbit? The EV engine has a bug that reguires you to kill all ships the first time you go to space. Probably you let a few ships escape and didnt notice? Did you see a sudden jump? That may have been a ship moving to hyperspace. If you targeted a ship, did you notice that it suddenly changed to No Target? Oh, if you want ships to reappear after the first time, you can also jump out of the system and in again. Try aborting the mission and getting it again- its a classic cure which in many cases solves problems.

    • It has worked before. There should be 15 ships in Alcyon you need to kill (bulk freighters, PT boats, patrol ships, and ore transports). These are escorted by 1 Confed carrier. The trouble with Alcyon is that ships don't hang around long. You may need to jump in and out several times to get all 15 ships (at least the carrier does not reincarnate). Do this and return to Diphidia and you should be well rewarded...

"?You have done well, and I hardly know how to say my thanks. I thought of paying you an obscene sum of money, but then we thought of something else..."

    • Also, is it the end to the mission strings when I finish the Rebel string? I can't get the Astex string nor the continued Lucas missions...

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, seven for the dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One Ring for the Dark Lord on his dark throne in the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

    • Yeah, I've tried all of those The way i killed them was jumping in and out of the system and landing at Deneb III becos of those evil shuttlecraft missiles. I Tried doing the mission again still didnt work I also tried installing the plug-in again-still didnt work. I'll try reinstalling EV and then I'll try killing them all in one go without landing but after that I'm stuck for ideas please help if youy have experienced this problem before!

There are numerous parallel mission strings. Go (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/ev_scourge/cheaters.html")http://www.geocities...e/cheaters.html(/url) for a list of mission threads.

The last mission of both the Rebel and Confed strings is "The Empress' Decree" in Hydra space. The absolute final mission is after the Fall. It is "Save the Universe" and takes you from New Earth to Ozo Thar.

The Lucas missions are mutually exclusive to the Pirate series, as I recall. If you do it, be sure to get the New Cydonia paper trail missions. They allow you to finish the Lucas series with "Just Desserts" and resolve the Leth/New Cydonian conflict

The main Astex string comes from the Diphidia string (there are a number of minor parallel delivery mission series (I think some turn off when New Diphidia turns on)). It is very easy to become a double agent (particularly since it is not always clear who is hiring you). This is probably a result of poor background checks due to desperation and zealotry. Note the picture on the Rebel fake ID, for example. 🙂
