    • Convert your EV pilot to an EVN pilot

What is Pilot Converter? Pilot Converter allows one to translate an EV or EVO pilot file into an EVN style pilot file. What with the upcoming ports of EV and EVO for Nova, this will allow people to continue to play in their favorite universe(s) without having to make a new pilot.

I will be placing the compressed application and read me on the Escape Velocity Add-ons site by the end of today, but for now, please visit
      (url="http://"http://hellskitchen.org/~seant/EV/PilotConvert/")http://hellskitchen....V/PilotConvert/(/url)

You want version two if you want to translate up to Nova. Version 1 only translates EV to EVO.

If people discover any problems, or have any comments, please email me at seant@hellskitchen.org

    • That is truly cool! But what if you want to use a pilot from real EV and EVO, just not the port to Nova? Or if you have a pilot with a plug-in, will it be corrupted because Nova has different plug-ins?

I am unsure what it is you are asking. Are you asking if the Nova engine will allow you to open EV or EVO pilots? It won't; it only recognizes Nova pilots. Are you asking if you can use the converted pilots files with Nova without the EV/EVO universe ports? Yes, but you'll have a weird ship/weapons as the id numbers are all different.

As for the second question, if you convert your pilot to work with the Nova engine and use the EV/EVO universe port, but do not have a port of your favorite plug-in, your pilot will behave strangely. To have a 1:1 relationship between EV and EVN, you need ports of your EV plugins, the EV data files, and your EV pilot.

I hope this answers your questions.

The second. That ansvers it. I could have guessed so. A converted pilot file with the EV/EVO universe port without the plug-in the pilot had, it will behave oddly. Thanks for the info. But that means I cant play Reign of... plugs, F-25 2.0, Secession or most else plugs. The only plug that is ported to Nova is Heart of Darkness by MacDevil.
