    • update for OS X 10.1?

Is there an update for POG for the new OS X release. I have tried playing it today and it's horribly choppy on my rev. D iMac with 384 MB of RAM and it was smooth with 10.0.4 and 256 MB. Any suggestions or is a new update needed?

    • Good luck getting an answer on that. I posted the same question 4 or 5 weeks ago when I first got my 10.1 upgrade. It's almost unplayable on 10.1 because of the choppiness. I have the same prob on a imac dv se+ with 128 megs of ram and a dual proc 533 with 700+ megs of ram.. Emailed Ambrosia too but they are probably too busy getting the windows version out. Oh well!

    • Just uninstall OSX 10.1.

    • I doubt anyone installed, or would install, an update to an operating system in order
to play a game, be it POG or otherwise. Personally I would say either make a patch
for 10.1, or don't play POG until they do. The bug fixes and stability of 10.1 are
probably big enough to not warrant uninstalling it just because a game freezes.

But then again, I'm still running 8.6 and don't have any intention of upgrading anytime
      soon. Heh.

Shoot 'em with everything you've got. If anything still lives, shoot 'em again.

    • Just to confirm this problem and bring this thread to the top hopefully for a response:

I just tried PoG (unregistered) on a TiBook 500 with 512 MB RAM and 10.1. It is indeed very jerky. Odd, considering how well it ran on a dual 450 G4 with the same amount of RAM under the (much slower) 10.0.4... ?

    • Weird. I'm running 10.1 on my new TiBook (450 mHz, 256 ram) and it runs beautifully.

    • Did you install POG before or after upgrading to 10.1, just wondering if it makes a difference. Since i moved to 10.1 on my ibook (dual usb) POG has suffered. Very choppy, but they make mention of it "working great" on 10.1 in there website somewhere.

but if it is working well for anyone on 10.1 then there might be some chance that a reinstall would help. I'll try it tonight anyhow. its just a big d/l if this isn't gonna help.

    • Pismo 400 MHz, 640 MB RAM, OS X 10.1.

I haven't played in a while as I completed the game a while back but when I fired it up again I did notice it is choppy. I get hesitations every 5 seconds or so, as well as when I change directions.

FWIW, I am playing with the game on a Maxtor firewire drive.

I just upgraded to 10.1 and reinstalled PoG on my iMac DV SE 400 with 384 MB RAM. There is no difference between pre and postreinstalling PoG running 10.1, still very choppy. I had no problems with 10.04.

Sorry for having missed this the first time around.

In testing here, we found that PoG ran beautifully on OSX.1.

We are working on an update now, and we'll be sure to look into this. Thanks for your patience.
