    • Garendall launch stalls

I downloaded the Pillars of Garendall demo onto the hardrive of my G3 Powerbook (160 MB Ram) with no problems.

On launching the game the name of the application appears briefly in the menu bar, then vanishes again without trace.

Does anybody have a suggestion what may cause this failure to launch? I appreciate your help!

    • Did you copy it off the disk image you downloaded and onto your hard drive?
That fixes 95% of problems similar to the one you describe.

Blood, waves, triumph. Blood, anger, lust, greed, blood. The First Antigan was born of such sin, into such sin. He saw sin, saw life, saw hope. He was Imbued with the power, the idea, the strength he would need to lead his people to absolute rule. Resurrected power, long forgotten on the torn and shattered Earth. Almighty lord, Nasher Degy, awoke, and prepared his elite power for use on his hated opponents. Almighty First, just like that. - Antigan Codex, Book of Antigan. 1:1

      Thanks Anatole!

Oddly enough, that seems to have been the problem. After I first unstuffed the .bin file a disk image was automatically created. Launching the Garendall application inside this disk image resulted in the problem I originally described.

After I read your message, I double-clicked the demo.img file and - lo and behold - a second disk image appeared. Launching the game from this image worked. Thanks again!

For the record, you should copy the contents of that to your hard drive.
