Whether you like it or not, the Boozerama Bar has been an important part of this board's history. There were about seventeen 200-post-long topics in the series before the Boozerama Bar NE came along, which currently has close to 900 posts (the largest topic on this board ever, as far as I can tell). Nearly every EV board regular posted in at least one installment of the bar, and many have been more-or-less active denizens of the bar since it was started. The Boozerama has helped new members get used to the atmosphere of these boards. Not to mention the fact that it's fun as hell.
I believe the Bar has been one of the major factors in keeping this board active in recent times. I think that Boozerama should be considered a piece (perhaps a small piece, but still a piece) of the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number;=A%3A000001&SUBMIT;=Go")Best of Escape Velocity Posts,(/url) and thus deserves to be recognized in that archive. I don't propose having every single Boozerama Bar archived, especially since one is still quite active. However, I think a good way to have the Bar archived would be to only archive the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/001974.html")Boozerama Bar History(/url) topic, which has a list of links to all of the bars in reverse chronological order.
I know many moderators and "mature" members don't consider bars to be of any importance to this community. The Boozerama certainly isn't the most serious or productive part of this board, but it has been important to its development. I don't think it's asking too much to have just one topic dedicated to the Boozerama in the formal archives. Of course, I have no idea how topics are actually archived or how hard it is to do so. I suppose only admins can move topics to the archives.* Still, I'd like to put forth this request to our local authority figures (read: EVula) to see what they can do about getting (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/001974.html")this topic(/url) in the archives. Thank you for your time.
/me quickly puts on flame-retardant suit and prays that no negative karmasticks are headed my way.
*EDIT: Looking over the archive, it does say at the top that the moderators are the ones who move topics to the archives. Even better!
