Slow day for you guys? You can't just decide which is best by voting on it. If you could, we wouldn't have all these really stupid politicians in office. It's a matter of choice which a player likes better. One side having more votes doesn't change that, it's just a waste of bandwidth.

Normally I'd go on to say something uncomplimentary about Jeremy Woodruff et al, but this new board just doesn't make flaming as effective or noticeable, so I won't bother.

And here I thought it was just a fun poll.

Chris, you seem awfully invested in this "waste of bandwidth." Do you have something to share with the rest of the class?

    • Well, his point is that debating about whether Confeds or Rebels are better is pointless because nobody is going to change his opinion anyway. Believe me, I know. And he is also against voting, which is yet another thing that doesn't solve anything. If anyone can vote, the result is bad because most people are stupid. That's how it happens with politicians.

And here you are, voting about the best government of a game in a webboard. His point was that the productivity of this posting goes beyond 'nonexistant'.

I do a lot of unproductive things (like, say, playing Escape Velocity), and yet manage to sleep pretty well at night. Hey, it's my time.

I did get Chris' point. It just seems kind of cranky to flog the horse of productivity on a website devoted to a computer game , you know?

As to the larger political thing: the only countries worse than those that allow their citizens to vote are the countries that don't.

    • Heh, I think its the fact I do enough important (to myself) things during my day which lets me come home and post nonsense about this board.

And of course, there's always internet projects, web pages to run, rpgs to admin, and new games to help design...

      Oh, and BTW: Rebels Rule.

I agree. People generally like me, but they hate my for the fact that I use Internet Explorer, it's just a preference of browser, all I care about in a browser is stability and ease of use.

It's true you don't get much in the way of cool weaponary but at least you can choose how you stand with all the various factions in the universe.

And if you guys are still nit-picking the validity of a non-confed/rebel vote, I would cast my government vote for the Confederation. Sure the Rebels give you some cool **** but it's all stolen tech.

Well, I think most people here know my opinion, but I should point out that it is customary not to revive topics this old; the last post came more than two years before yours.

    • Vote #22: Rebels. Definitely.
The Confeds are a bit too oppressive. They attack you, just because you attacked some innocent bystander. The Rebels, on the other hand, don't give a damn about who you attack, except their ships.

Wow, I never realised it was oppressive to try to stop people from killing innocent bystanders. Just goes to show, doesn't it?
