    • Proxima string EVGE

Ok ok, I used the search button and read up on all the proxima goodies I could find. I found the system, taleria or soemthing to that effect, found a disabled bird of prey, and when I boarded it, nothing happened. Is something supposed to happen? Text, or should I just head out to the main Proxima homeworld now? That's kind of unclear.

    • Ok, for EVGE, and the proxima string...there must be a bug, because I jumped in and out of the system enough times to come across the rare disabled bird of prey...the first two times I boarded it I had about a 20% chance to capture...no text came up no mission. Now the third time I boarded it, I got the text message, the mission to go to Proxima alpha. Now, when I get to the homeworld...nothing happens. The crew stays in my ship, the mission log stays in my itinerary. Nothing changes. I went back to the galactic south to see if I had to finish off any left over pirates which is part of that mission, and I must have killed several hundred pirates just to be safe. When I got back to Proxima alpha, I still have the same problem. Anybody have any ideas?

    • Ok, when I put the game down and came back to it....praying that the mission would accept. All my Banshee escorts turned into Birds of Prety, as well as their fighters. Ummm...Has this happened to anybody else? I guess I'm going to start over. I don't even have any other plugs besides the tuner in with EVGE. aggggghhh!

Possibly you neglected to wipe out all of the pirates in the Talaria system, before heading for Proxima. You must kill all of the pirates who arrive just after you leave the crippled bird of prey, before landing on the planet, or jumping out of the system.

    • Sounds like a corrupted file or something of the sort.

If you've got the correct plug-ins and pilot file, and EV 1.0.5, I don't know what else could possibly be wrong.

Unless it's a memory problem -- make sure you have plenty of RAM allocated to EV; EVGE is big and will require upwards of 20 mb for problem-free play. But you probably knew that already.

I might have had a corrupted pilot. I threw that guy out, and started again with out any problems this time. I really don't know what happened with the previous pilot though...
