This thread is designed as a companion thread to the EVW webstory thread. This threadŐs purpose is to host discussion and argument over the proceedings of the webstory, and to post new ship designs on. Please post your governmentŐs defense fleets here.

The planetary defense fleets get the following appropriations:

200M for Sol
100M for Capitals
40M for Core Worlds
20M for Colony Worlds

You must supply a standard configuration for each type of world.

i.e. All core worlds get x fleet and all colony worlds get y fleet, etc.

The Confederation defense fleets consist of the following:

Colony Worlds: 7 ODSs (11.34M), 2 Frigates (7.1M) and 10 Gunboats (1.48M)

Core Worlds: 8 ODSs (12.96M), 3 Frigates (10.65M), 1 Confederation Cruiser Mk. II (12.81M), and 23 Gunboats (3.40M)

Sol: 6 Confederation Cruisers Mk. II (76.86M), 40 ODSs (64.8), and 16 Frigates (56.8M)

Some infromation on the pirates in EVW:

What is a pirate?
In EVW a pirate is someone in the loose organization known as The NeoNetwork (of Space Piracy). They don't exactly qualify as "nice people." They like to disable other ships and take their credit account numbers, cargo (if they want it), and any interesting outfits the disabled ship may have. Sometimes a pirate will capture some of the crew, although this is rare. If the pirates capture a good ship they may take control of its bridge, abandon the crew on the nearest planet and bring the ship back to a pirate shipyard. Unlike the pirates in classic EV, they usually will not kill the crew if they can help it. Most pirates are in their business mainly for profit, not the joy of killing.

Who pirates hate
Pirates loathe the Confederation. They usually hate the Rebellion, although they would rather see the Rebels win the galactic civil war than the 'feds. (Also see main topic.) Pirates don't really like the Letheans or New Cydonians. They like to capture UGE and other package companys' ships to get at the galactic map info on trade routes and such. They mostly hate Mercenaries but will actually hire them in a pinch. They hate the militia for independant planets. They don't really hate independant people and traders, but they usually attack them on sight to get at their precious credits and cargo.

Are all pirates in the NeoNetwork?
No. Some are independant pirates. Some pirates pirate other pirates! The main non-NeoNetwork pirate group is the Yurthan Group traitors. They broke off from Pirate War King Luke's main fleet around seven years ago. They hide out in the Trugati Asteroid belt and are totally xenophobic.

Current pirate goals
Currently, the NeoNetwork (of Space Piracy) is working on continuing piracy. We wish to destroy the Yurthan Group pirates. We are developing a new ship, the Pirate Heavy Kestral, a complete re-working of the old design with six Lightning F/Bs in it's large bay. Our long-term goals include capturing the new Confederation technology known as Particle Beam weaponry. Eventually, we hope to utterly destroy the Confederation.

Grunadulater, the fleet's ship count on your page, is strange: 927 ships, a bit much. Or is the unavailable meaning something, I am unsure. Carno posted on the last discussion thread his fleet, and the new Corsair vessel, but you might want to discus with him, since he has the greater half of the pie.

UE Admiral, the defence fleet are independent from the attacking fleets, but you can adjust them to your will as the story evolves. Just post the standard DF and it will be fine.

Defense fleets stay at the planet they are assigned too (every planet has a defense fleet) they only come into play if the system is attacked.
