    • Cygnus Alliance problem

Does anyone know where the mission string starts for the Alliance? I've been destroying confederate VIP transports and defending against raids for days.

Funny, I'm attempting the same thing.

    • The Cygnus Alliance mission strings start randomly on an Alliance planet. There is a 20% chance of a mission starting with "Special Delivery to ...". You must complete 3 of these missions before the missions will activate. I did this so that you can familiarize yourself with the Alliance territory and make some cash in the process toward some of the new ships.

Also, the old Rebel missions are still available, redone for the Alliance. They can be started the same way as before.

    • so i take it that dropping off alliance munitions does not count?
i've delivered around 20 loads so far from liberty station, and still no string. Obviously it should be somewhere else, but i stop and ask everywhere...nada.
      thiking of joining the pirates.

also, what are the atinoda-ish longnose bigships, and will i be able to testdrive one somewhen?

    • if im not mistaken, your talking about the Antidona Kestrel. Its the best civ ship in the game.mostly pirates and bounties have them, also named ships like the matt burch or john summers.

    • Either that or the new Atinoda Banshee (second row down, first one on left)

      Posted Image
(This is all the new ships included in EV:The Cygnus Alliance)

Now as for the missions, the Alliance Munitions run is part of another mission string, not one for the new mission strings.

Also while I am here, I am glad to see a fairly good sized intrest in my plug. Since it's release March 1, it has been downloaded almost 700 times in 6 weeks. Thanks everyone. Be sure to look foward to my next project, which you will here more of in the coming months.

    • thanx Z. well done, and your ships look great. it is the banshee i was looking for. since writing the earlier post, i have picked up the artemis group string and completed it, though it damn near killed me. then traversed the entire alliance galaxy and still no string...

also, to players: for an alternative to dominating planets, try disabling and looting pirates. i'm on about 22M from that alone. a kestrel alone will yield around 400 000cr, after taking only eleven or twelve torpedoes in quick succession. there is a lucrative uninhabited galaxy close to spica for stalking...

on the topic, Z: looting pirate ammunition only sometimes adds it to your own, even if you have capacity and launchers for it. why is this?

    • since we talking about cygnus alliance, how can i pass the last pirate mission of attacking perseus. Is impossible they have all the super ships and i only have me(reb Crusier with best upgrades) a corvette escort and puny pirate ships. HEEELLPP!!!!!!

      ------------------

    • ok if you come up to a fleet of keistrals you distroy the lightining fighters first then the main ship

Unfortunetly, I have no idea why...

Pitabread Man: If your heading into the pirate missions, it is a very good idea to come well prepared. Kestrels, Raptors, Banshees, Strikers, and any of the Cygnus warships are a near must.

travis: Thanks for helping Pita while I was gone... 🆒

    • i still have not succeeded in picking up the alliance string. are there any requirements for the string to start? got nice ship, 20 tons space, lots of money, deadly rating and bagsful of enthusiasm. perhaps my download was glitched? i'm about to quit looking now. it is no fun anymore. advice?

    • I dont really know if this helps but.well i was loyal to the confeds for soemreason even tho i iked the rebs before i upgradeed but i was at spica and and i went to the bar and cygnuians grabbed me and took me to the govener and he said that confeds trust me so i would help them by killing a special vip transport and then the cynuians loved me in all their systems and my legal status became the "fonz"
      😕

Yes, that is the "Change Sides" mission, which randomly happens when you reach a certain level of credibility with the Confederation. This was in the game prior to my plug (Originally a Rebel mission).

      There are two outcomes possible:
      - Destroy the transport, the Confeds hate you, the Alliance likes you.
      - Abort mission, Alliance hates you alot more, Confeds like you more.

And I messed around with different Combat and Legal strings. "The Fonz" is the level otherwise known as Good Egg. For those who don't know, "The Fonz" was a character from a TV show called 'Happy Days'. He was always the 'cool' guy that everone wanted to be like.

No, your download had not glitched. I did make it hard to get to the mission strings for the Cygnus Alliance, but I didn't really anticipate a lot of people would have a lot of problems (the beta testers took it pretty easy). Look for the "Special Delivery to..." missions in Alliance Mission Computers. At first, they will act like normal cargo runs. On the third one, someone will speak to you.

Other mission sets include the Re-exploration of the Serpens Nebula (Alliance), and Pirate's Plunder (Pirate). Pirates Plunder is the most changing mission string, and is very difficult to complete due to the final mission. Midway through it also gives you access to the Atinoda Banshee, which will help you immencely.

    • yes, so i found switch sides, but the alliance has hated me ever since i had the confed rebel cruiser, so my status changed, sure enough, but all alliance ships still wanted me dead. i'm now back in a raptor, which, when really souped up seems to be the best allrounder.

i presume the pirate missions only come on pirate planets?

about the alliance string: thanks. i was hanging around in bars too much...

are there alien/vortee strings as well? any tips for getting it?

The pirate string starts at any Pirate owned planet, and then is continued at George's Plunder (THX-1138).

The Vortee mission string is known in this scenerio as the Serpens Nebula Exploration. According to this storyline, Evildrome was cut off from the rest of the hyperspace system. The Vortee inhabit that entire region, and the only way to access it is through the Alliance, after the first Alien string (from the original scenerio) Be forwarned, the Aliens are very tough to beat.

    • i am doing the pirate string, and am apparently at the final mission: the attack on perseus. there is no way in hell to defeat all those ships. further, as soon as I hyper into perseus, all the pirate escorts turn hostile towards me. it doesn't help.

also, if like the commander says, this is the final mission, and it has to be cause its impossible, then shouldn't i have been given access to the banshee somewhere?

im in rebel destroyer, and it is whipped again and again.

      help?
