Hmm...
But asuming that all of those 6 escorts are cruiser, who all hold 4(?) smaller ships, you have 24 ships. And asuming that you have a six ships yourself (which is max, if you are in a cruiser ship, and have bought the Hawk Bay and put two hawks therein) you get 30 ships. 31 with you.
The max is 32 ships in a system at once (right? or is it 64?), hence the Feds will manage to send out one ship at the time, and a Frigate can easily take out a Hawk, Manta or a Patrol Ship. So in the end, not even that trick will work as you after a while will be alone with a bunch of Frigates.

Good counting. How do you get your escorts to launch their fighters though? You wait for another misc. schip (trader, confed transport, whatever) to enter the system. That takes care of #32. Fly your fleet out to the edge of space. Tell them to hold position. Fly back to the core and target one of these dummy ships. The cruisers will all launch their fighters. Before they reach the dummy and before the dummy jumps out of the system, demand tribute. The more dummies in the system, the more likely you are to succeed. Another thing you can do, if you are short on fighters in your fleet, is to accept a mission that has alot of ships following you around. The final tractor beam mission comes into mind. Pop into Sol with all those bastards following you and let them launch all their fighters at you. Make sure you round out an even 32 with your own and them dominate the planet. There a few ways of doing it. Pick what you will.
