I'm still here, ableit unjustly karmabanned. I second VAI's post, with the consideration of course that we also use th rules that were developed for the EV Webstory, such as ship price being determined by it's components and their prices.

Originally yes, although the mods condemned my karmabanning for that and I was unkarmabanned when andrew got back from tokyo and was able to thus do so. Sundered Angel got mad at me during the last abortion debate on Just Chat. Apparently saying that abortion is comparable to the Holocaust and such is a bad thing Anyway, he banned me when I kept up the debate after he warned me not to insult anyone, which is interesting since I didn't insult anyone after his little last warning. Personally, I'd have to agree that it isn't that bad, but that's certainly not something mods should be slapping people over if it was expressed in an abortion debate on the appropriate board, as it appears it was.

OK, so let's review here: I'm Cydonian, for now at least, Rak and Ipvicus are Confeds, I think, Overrider is a Rebel, and I think everone else that has posted was either merc or a neutral person, right? If that's it, we may have to ask all you neutral guys to switch to one of the bigger governments...

Smaller fleets are definitely a go, and we may just deal with fixed tech - almost certainly fixed weapons as found in the game, though new ships are a distinct possibility as long as it doesn't get out of control.

I've also been thinking, since we'll need to be spreading players a bit thin, that perhaps everyone should control two fleets. Since they'll be smaller, it won't flood the universe, and would allow 2-3 players to form an effective major government, and 1 would suffice for a minor govt. Any thoughts on that?

I think that giving each independant player to have two fleets would be good but think that it would cause to many problems if the major governments did the same.

Does anyone have any ideas about who might fill in as a neutral mod?

And then they'll both come work for me, since I imagine my benefits would blow away any amount of money anyone else would offer.

We may just have to decide who gets multiple fleets based on how many people are with each government. Right now, we seem to have a real shortage of Rebels, which could become a problem...
