ok, this is weird, when I try to take over planet, their defence ships never gives up. I tried to take over a planet, after I killed over 30 ships, the planet just keep sending them non-stop, how many ships do I need to kill so that the planet will give up? Or I can't take over the planet....

    • Think realistically about how many defense ships a real planet would have. There's your answer. Scared? (especially applies to Earth)

    • You're not going to get a great answer by screaming but i'll answer you anyways. There is no definite answer, depends on strength of the planet. Levo for example has around a hundred defenders I think. Earth has what, a thousand cruisers?

Every planet has its own defense dude and defense number. Some have low numbers and weak ships while some have high numbers and ships of unimaginable destruction (of course I am talking about the Rebel Destroyers :))

If you cannot dominate a planet, it is not because of a bug but because of your piloting. As for your corvette, well, it means nothing if you are not using it well. No matter how much power you have, it will get you nowhere if you do not use it correctly.

Taking out a thousand confederate cruisers with a fork? Any good pilot knows that your only hope is a spork. Give up your inferior utensils, and give in to the power of the spork.

      2. I'm having trouble locating aliens in the mission "locate alien ships"
      3. I'm using corvett, when I hire Karstal ship, it cost me 1 M but where is the ship? After I click on hire ship my $$ descrease 1 M but I don't get a Karstal, maybe because I need to have a Karstal to hire a Karstal.

      Gah, it's Kestrel, dammit!

If you have 6 escorts, you can't have any more.

I mean you may have a Corvette but if you cant fly well then you may as well buy a defender 🙂 j/k

    • Hey Dudz, even when allied to a particular government it's possible to take over a huge number of planets, eg as a Rebel I have taken over the planets/stations of every system, excluding Centauri, Sol, NGC-6564 and, of course, the Rebel systems. All in all, that's 78,000 credits per day. Anyhow, here are a few tips that seem to be effective:

      • Good ships to use are the Rebel Destroyer or Cruiser, or if you're not in a position to buy them, the Kestrel or Corvette are adequate.

      • Great planets to pick on are those independent worlds that have few redeeming features eg no shipyard or outfitting services, thus you can expect they have a weaker defence force.

      • The smaller independent worlds that use Defenders for their fleet are sitting ducks. If you have any kind of ship with a few proton turrets and a shield booster, you can just park your ship on top of the planet, hold down the space bar (or whatever your assigned gun key is) and tap the 'nearest enemy' key occassionally. this is even easier if you have escorts.

      • If you're working for the Rebels, are in possession of the cloaking device, and have a reasonably impressive collection of escorts, here's a great tactic to use: if your shield is running low or you're down to your armour when taking out their defence fleet, hit the 'cloak' button. Your escorts will tear up their fleet without them resisting or even moving for as long as you stay cloaked.

      • And one last thing. When you've defeated their defence fleet, remember to hail the planet again and demand tribute for a second time, otherwise you won't get a penny.

      Hope all that helps 🙂

    • I have no ecourts, I guess when you try to hire a Kestrel on a pirate planet, they took will just take 1 M and not giving you the ship.

I assume you mean Levo. Levo is the easiest planet to take over, unless you're in maybe a shuttle with one laser.

Beware its a hard thing to beat you best bet , If your not cheating Your best bet would be to sit on top of it and fire you weapons I suggest going for a kestrel.

For complete wooses (like me) who will Monty Python anything, you could...Monty Python it! But make sure you have some escorts to distract the fighters, who are virtually impossible to beat without the tractor beam. Oh, and when outfitting your Kestrel, buy only what you'll need and nought else - believe me, once the mission is completed there're much better things to spend your credits on 😉

    • Ok, I now taking over 4 planets, does all the planet give you $ 1000 per day? Or some planet give you more? Can you take over pirate planet as well?

      ------------------
      emulation master

    • The weaker planets will only give you 1000 credits per day. Generally, the stronger a planet is, the more money it'll give you. It is possible to get tribute from all of the pirate systems, and I think they pay you quite a bit, too. At first, each tribute doesn't seem like much, but believe me the more you conquer, the quicker your money increases. Like I said, I'm now getting 78,000 credits a day, which means I'll always have money for ammo top-ups, and saving up for ships takes no time at all - by now, I have 44m credits, so all my financial problems are sorted...however, once a planet/station has been taken over, they feel inclined to send bounty hunters after you - who come in the form of Kestrels... 😛
