well, I've completed a sprite, target, and mask for the ship I'm calling the alien frigate. I can't get any kind of shipyard or comm icon together due to vast graphics incompetence, but oh well. I think this ship and possibly others will be used in that plug-in idea I was tossing around in the alien thread. In case any of you were just dying to use it(yeah right!) they can be found here:

Those look pretty good (after having to copy the links in a new window :p), and I like the style of that target view. It could use some extra detail, but it's good as it is.

I don't know why, but those sprites don't work in the plugin, half of the angle get a giant black line going through them, and I made the mask exactly the same (all I did was make the contrast +100). Skyblade, what am I doing wrong?

Hmmm, sounds like some of your frames aren't corrrectly centered. Either that, or you forgot to change the frame size in ResEdit.

Your sprite size is 528x528 pixels, which is fine (since it's a multiple or eight). Therefore, your individual frame size is 88x88 pixels. Make sure you insert that into the X/Y cordinates in the "spin" resource, located in the EV Graphics data file.

Bingo! That's it... 88x88 pixels. Escape Velocity does not like that frame size. My original 3/4 sprite for the Rebel Destroyer was that exact size, and it had the same problems as yours (nasty, annoying black stripes and blackouts during spin). When I shrunk the sprite down to where each frame was 80x80 pixels, it worked perfectly. Hopefully that's the problem with your sprite... Give it a shot and see if it works.
