Since I need to go by the image gallery guidelines and withhold posting multiple graphics at once, I figured I'd go ahead and show you guys these. I've made all thee graphics within the past few days, and hope to eventually put them up for download at Saber Studios in the near future. I'm also thinking about using them for the Ares/EV plugin project I mentioned before.

very nice. When i see things like that, i automatically start thinking of descriptions and its predecessor ships. Kinda like making a plugin in my head just by seeing things. good models make me do that. you= getting better every time i see something youve done.

Skyblade, are you just trying to excuse being lazy with the sprites take forever part? It only takes me about half an hour to do sprites, an hour if I also had to do 3/4 view. And I'm using Strata!

That's exactly what happened to me. I've been on GameRanger blasting people in Ares, NetFungus, Surrender etc., just as a break from graphics. Now I'm a little tired of all that, and graphic designing sounds wonderful as the moment.

I had a slight feeling you'd say something along those lines. As I've mentioned before, I spin each ship at both top and 3/4 angles, as to allow the developer to be more flexible. I then have to spin the masks for the ships, save them in 36-frame QuickTime format, and copy the frames over piece by piece into Photoshop. It takes awhile, but it's the cleaner and better way to do it. Programs like MakeSpin tend to corrupt graphics as they spin them...

Have you tried using R&R; Software's (url="http://"http://www.mso.anu.edu.au/~ralph/rodger/files/m2s105.hqx")m2s(/url) (Movie to Sprite)? You save the movie from your 3D app, and then it does the arranging for you. Takes a Mask too, though you may want to clean that up a bit. Cleaning a mask is a lot easier than redoing a movie, though. I'd put an example I have for you to see, but it's really no better than the movie, which was only medium quality - not the best showing. I will say that I can't see a significant difference between my movies and the sprites, though.

BTW Skyblade, while your working on these graphics, I don't suppose you could send me top down movies and maybe comm views of some of the HC BfS III ships you did, could you? Particularly the Stingray, if you have time. I'm already arranging a few of mine into a plug, just for kicks. j00 ph33r the Hammerhead.

Yeap, I've messed around with it before, but it's nowhere near as clean as doing sprites with Infini-D. I usually don't have problems with creating the sprites, it's just the masks I have problems with. Infini-D sometimes likes to insert shadows here and there, which requires some clean up using Photoshop. Regardless of the hardships of sprite-creating, I still like the Infini-D way best. Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't have any of the BFS III models anymore. I trashed them weeks ago to grab some extra hard drive space. Funny thing was, my dad added 80gig external hard drives to both our G3s that night, and space was no longer a problem. If only I had waited longer...
