What does the karma under peoples' names reflect?

Karma is a numerical representation of how "good" that person is. Piss off us mods, your karma gets dropped. Do good around the boards, and eventually your karma will rise.

...except that other places used the number of posts to determine ranking, this one is actually based on judgment, that's a nice setup.

I'll let you in on a secret: Positive karma is meaningless. It's just eye-candy given as a reward for being good/helpful/etc. Don't place any real value on it, because the karma-rewarding system is far from fair and impartial, although the mods do their best (they are not omniscient). The only karma that matters in -10 karma, at which point you get banned. Although I see in this modest appraisal of our ways a glimmer of hope for you, kyle. FIRE!!!

Although I do recommend something: make your nick shorter. Long nicks like that are just a detriment to your identity and recognizability/pronunciation factor here.

Well it was going to be plain old Kylethekender, but heres the story behind the 3 extra numbers... I was filling in the registration...and i had that name and i filled out my e-mail address, misspelling hotmail as homtai...therefore it actually registered. Trying again...i found out that hotmail...and yahoo weren't accepted, so i went out searching for free e-mail sites. Aha, altavista, and there we go...it took quite a while to register but now that i'm in yay! I had no idea escape velocity was this popular, and I'm glad it is because it's one of the funnest and most addicting games ever.

ugh...grammar...i've always used "funnest" and why would it be improper anyway? fun is an adjective so you technically could add an ending to that!

Let's see... Pikey likes to call me "Captain Obvious" for pointing out the obvious and answering questions to the best of my ability, but I like that one. Can't have it.

And most of you call me "Skyblade," though there already is a member of that name. Just make sure to capitalize the "s"...

I'm sure some of you remember forge's little nick he gave me. You can have that one if you prefer, Insano. Heh.

"Infini-D god" is what Jormungand sometimes calls me, though I certainly am not (glares at Weepul :p).

There's also "Master of Photoshop," which I still hear every now and then...

...but I think I like Captain Skyblade the best. Go figure?
