I thought that the Alien Missions were easy, even when I first killed it(1/5). I had a kestrel and the particle beam. The particle beam seemed to keep it from turning, so I just had the beam and all of my proton bolts and turrets firing at once. It died in a matter of minutes. I left the system with 99% shields (one of the Alien fighters hit me w/ its beam). NOTHING CAN STAND UP TO MY KESTREL!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
