    • Imminent Plug-in Release (should interest "Empire Trilogy" fans)

If you've visited my homepage as of late, I expect you've seen under the "future releases' section mention of my last instalment of the Empire storyline called HEART OF DARKNESS.

For those interested in my work (you know who you are 🙂 I'm just putting the finishing touches on the Empire faction missions (completed the Weave) and hope to have the plug uploaded by the end of this month. With each side having about 110 missions apiece, this is the most epic work I've done yet. It also contains a LOT of refinements from lessons learned from my previous plugs - for example, it will be virtually impossible to make an 'indestructible fighter' in this game; apparently this could be done in Empire Of Crime.

Oh, and as a salute of sorts to all this series' fans don't be surprised if you recognise a name or two amongst the assorted characters you'll meet. Shade and Jack Barnwell know what I'm talking about 🙂

In the meantime, thanks as usual for your interest in my work...

      Kindest Regards,

      Tim

Yes, it was possible. Cheap as hell, of course, but...

I refused to leave my Kestrel just to make the game a challenge. That and it looked cool.

I never considered my Saur Carrier to be virtually indestrucbible, even if it did have shield upgrades. Ah well, I can still take out four Empire dreadnaughts and their fighters...

    • Well, because of this topic I decided I would try my hand at the Empire series, starting with the purportedly first installment (as near as I could tell) After a bit of playing and a start on the Weave missions, you can now count me amongst your fans, Tim. Bravo.

    • Hey...I would like to meet myself...see if a Kestrel can take on a Rebel Destroyer. Pleaaaaaaaaseeee??

But, is there a bunch of new graphics? That's one of the best parts of these plugs. I like!

    • Hey Tim, thanks for extending the alien mission string because I really need a challenge!

    • Tim,
ZenMastaT brings up an interesting question. What is the order (if any)
of your plug-ins? And should they be played in this order?
      JRC

Ripley: "These people are here to help you. They're soldiers."
Newt: "It won't make any difference."
      "Aliens"

      ------------------

    • The chronological order of the plugs is:
      Empire
      Empire of Crime
      Heart of Darkness
      E2 :Dark Horizons
      E3:Endgame

The order they were made in is:
      Empire
      E2
      E3
      EoC
      HoD

As to what order you play them in,it doesn't really matter.I worked backwards from E3,then played EoC.

    • Actually, if you wanted to play in a direct order, then here is as follows (for me at least):

Empire: might want to choose siding with the Terran Empire to enjoy E2 fully
      E2: Dark Horizon
      E3: Endgame

EoC is something I would play after the trilogy, but then again that's just me.

Given the order in which they were released, how would one play any other way? EoC seems like it should go afterwards anyway. Although there are some continuity issues, the story lends itself to being done after the trilogy is completed.

Yup, this was also possible in Empire 2: Dark horizons
      and Empire 3: Endgame.

The combination of a mega shield upgrade
combined with several shield regeneration improvements
on a small fighter (who already regen quick) enabled this.

In response to the above inquiry, the chronological order of the plugs in terms of timeline is indeed:

      Empire
      Empire of Crime
      Heart of Darkness
      E2: Dark Horizons
      E3: Endgame

...though I've designed the plugs so that they can be played in ANY order you please. As for the final episode, HEART OF DARKNESS, I'm currently writing the final campaign for the Empire side before I begin text proofreading and beta-testing. If all goes to plan, I expect to make the plug available at the end of November or beginning of December.

Someone else asked if there will be any new ship designs in HOD to which the answer is... YES! There are a variety of sprites I've never used before and several ships were custom designed for this plug by Shade. He knows the ones 🙂

      Kindest Regards,

      Tim

    • Hey, Tim, I am sure that I am way too late, and 1000th person to ask, but is there any way I could help beta test?
