Well, after looking around cnet's download.com a little bit, I discovered that Escape Velocity is not only one of the most talked about games at the site, but also the one with the highest approval rating (98%)... I had to chuckle when I read this guy's take on it:

OMFG this game r0x! not easy to say when I have a whole load of other commercial games installed on my PC right now (deus ex, d2, bw, half life). This game's replayability factor is huge, and even with no multiplayer features it lasted me for months on end. **Too **ing bad i have to play it on my powerbook instead of my pc desktop, those single minded bastards at ambrosia won't make anything for pc.

Isn't that last part just touching? Sheeeesh

Those single minded bastards are some of the smartest single minded bastards I have come to discover! Using a Mac is not only fun, but relyable! If only those PC users could come to set the price of the Macintosh aside and notice the relyablility... the they'd know how versitile and fun the Mac is. In my opinion anyway.

My brother's Mercury Montego cost half of what a G4 Supercomputer costs today... but my G4 isn't sitting in my driveway waiting to be lubed up.

I have shown EV to my dormmates and recieved similar results. Many have phoned home, asking for iBooks, when they learned the versitality of the Mac, and how easily it can be upgraded and personalized. Lets just say there were a lot of Compaqs (sp?) in the recycling bin the next day... Well, maybe thats a bit of an overstatement, but I still love seeing the eternal torture that PC users must go through. after all, they (previously) showed off their Pieces of Crap, along with boasts of "We get all the games first." then I showed them EV. D'you know, all the Ivy league collages run on Macs? I heard that Dubya has an iMac, and it is rumored that the pentagon runs on the Macintosh system as well. But back to my Dorm...
I have been proudly flashing the "About this Computer" popup whenever my roomate walks in, and I swear, i've seen his face trun green when he looks at "Largest Unused Block." It brought me great joy to show them all how user-freindly Ethel is, though my bike has been tee-peed sevral times. Out of jest, of course... Don't worry. I repaid the little a**holes. Open sugar packets and clean beds go quite well with each other...
