Well, mainly it involves bringing up your combat and legal ratings by destroying ships of whichever government the government you wish to join opposes. If you want to fight wit hthe rebellion, then hunt down those ConFed ships, though you had better have a good enough ship to tackle the enemy, as they will automatically attack you if your legal rating goes low enough with them, and the military ships in the game are amongst the most powerful.

Once sufficent legal and combat ratings have been acheived, then just visit spaceport bars on planets of your chosen government, and soon enough, some should approach you with an offer. I'm sure someone else with a bit more knowledge of the game then me could better inform you of the specifics involved in acquiring missions.

Hey Moose, havn't seen you in a while. I see that your karma hasn't risen.

Basically you just beat the "cheese wiz" out of all the governments(exept Independants) you don't want to join! To do that you must have a strong ship, corvette/krestel. Then as soon as every government you don't want to join hates you, you visit the bars of the govrnment you do want to join and most likely they will offer you a job. The main bar for Rebels is Palshif<sp> or Confeds Earth.

I've gotten missions from the Rebels after I buy a Lightning. The lightning is fast, can have flairs, and a missle jammer. I have killed cruisers with that. Most of all, kill avery confed you see. (that is if you are joining the rebels) After a while, you will have to many missions.
