Hi!
I recently realized that I have alot of sparetime, some rather good GFX-skills, ResEdit, Escape Velocity and a great idea on a EV-scenario...
I do however wonder if there is some software, better than ResEdit, to edit Escape Velocity with?
And is it really legal to edit EV like this? 
Hey, has the web-board been down or is it just my rude modem?

Some people would argue that good ol' ResEdit is the only way to go... but there are other products available. You can try Ben Chess' EVEdit, though I have heard it has many bugs which make the game much harder to edit, and if you just go to the Ambrosia page for Escape Velocity, you can look under the Add-Ons section for editors or othersuch things. Also, I do believe it quite legal to modify the game like this, as long as you don't go and try to make money off it, especially considering Ambrosia hosts many of these man-made things on their own site.

Well, I will go on with ResEdit, Photoshop and good ol'MS Word!
I have no intentions to make any money of my scenario! I will just put them on my page, credit Ambrosia and send some special greetings to some people!

I could, by the way, use one person more to make this scenario... I do at least need knowledge on how to make Missions, in ResEdit!

Don't use EVEdit; it has too many bugs and can screw things up. While it is a good program, and kudos to Ben Chess for his genius in programming it, it is safer for you to use ResEdit. Shmelta-V is great for missions - stable and simple. If you are good with ResEdit as you claim to be, there should be no problems.
Is it legal to make plugins? No, in fact I think Ambrosia only has the plug-ins folder there to lure people into a law-suit. :rolleyes:

As for making mission in resedit, I don't. I find Shmelta-V easier, and just as stable. It has a great reputation... Missions are the most difficult thing to make, so I suggest you go with shmelta-V for added simplicity.

I checked that page earlier, but I gave up waiting after a few minutes. But I waited quite a long time now, and I see it all now!

The reason I may not seam "ready to make a plugin of any kind..." might be that I thus far have made only one plug-in (which is most unserious! ;)), and I ask people about help. You know; (i)"You never learn until you try yourself and or ask experienced people"(/b)
Like I said, I will use MS Word for writing the story and other texts, not to write the plug-in!
I never really said I was good with ResEdit.

As one with ability to read should notice, that fragment "rather good" is refering to the "GFX-skills" which is written in the sentence.
