Why doesn't anyone visit my Space Place ezBoard? It's really nice. Pkus, there's factions you can join. Why doesn't anyone want to join it?
I am going to work on a Law Manual, but I won't if no one is going to join it. Please join. I will have a place on my webiste dedicated to the rules and other things about it.

You must realize that EV has been out for a VERY long time. People have seen things like this come and go, and come and go many, many times. There just aren't enough people around anymore for something like this away from the main site.

I don't have much time to post in such boards anymore, though I do encourage members to continue developing them. Anyhow, EZboard has been very annoying with all the pop-up ads and advertisements, so most people prefer to stick to UBB and PHP forums...

EZBoard only has one pop-up. And I will probably get the Gold edition so there aren't any pop-ups. (I wouldn't know what it's like to have a pop-up, because I now have a reflex to close all pop-ups. I have a 600 k DSL modem and don't remember what it is like to have a slow internet access speed) Sorry for the trouble if I caused any.

Even without the ads (I usually get between 1 to 4 of them), I really don't like the entire EZboard atmosphere. Something similar to the UBB system here at Ambrosia is what I prefer.

And likewise, this is very easy to use, as are all the others. Freeboards are essentially the hardest things to work and get used to, because they really do look cheap and don't have as many options as boards you can actually make (or port, or upload as a script onto your site).

Because of this, combined with the fact that, yes, EV has been around forever, new boards are rarely noticed anymore. Look at it sorta like car alarms. Everyone thinks they need to have one, but what does it really do for you if your car is broken into? Do you notice car alarms if they go off around you? Does anyone else. See the analogy here.

So, simply put, you can try if you'd like, but it's extremely hard (and unlikely) to get an established webboard going successfully. They're just outdated nowadays. If you want to help it out, think of something no one else has done before, and do it.

If it was still in my place to suggest new and crazy things to do for the EV community I would. Back in the day I did. They were called RPGs.

I'm saying that if you want a higher # of people to come to whatever it is you have, 'just another webboard' isn't going to hack it.
