    • Missing EV Data file!

Okay, recently, around the time I started to download all of Pontus' programs, I have been losing my EV Data file. (Not saying it's his fault)
It just disappears. I make alias' of it and put them into the programs' files, then I log out or restart, and the original is GONE! Just poof! Even Sherlock 2 Search doesn't find it. So, should I duplicate it also for now on??

I would always keep a duplicate of the EV (and EVO for that matter) data files for backup, especially if you are into plugin development. It only takes one mistake to ruin a data file...

Sure, make a duplicate, and see if that works.

    • Stick to resedit. It will never give you problems. ShmeltaV is pretty stable, too, but use ResEdit as much as possible. It's all you need. Go get the EV bible.

    •

The file is gone? Are you sure you didn't accidentally move it rather than make alias or something?

I have no idea how that could happen.

Yeah, making a duplicate is probably a good idea in the future.

    • Well, this in the same vein as "keep a copy", but its a good idea for other things, too: keep the file that you downloaded around as a backup. This way, all you have to do is open the archive and pull out the file you need. If you didn't download it, that means you got it from a CD, which is even easier. 🙂
