BFS II is giving me both great respect -- and dread -- for ASW's efforts with EVN. Skyblade is aging at three times the normal rate trying to keep up with map changes alone. And that's with less than a dozen players of BFS II. "If" EVN ever happens (that "if" is the dread I mentioned earlier) any players -- and especially ASW -- will need Cray IIs to keep it running smoothly(!).
(I know a guy who worked at Control Data Corp in the early 80s. He said they had an interactive version of Star Trek that could accept many players simultaneously and that it ran really slowly on CDC's "little" super-computer, the Cyber 176. It ran best on the same super-computer Knolls Attomic Power Lab used ... the Cyber 205(!). (The 205 was mostly designed by Seymour Cray -- befor he started his own company.) Just a little cyber trivia for you people....)
Hang in there, Skyblade. You will survive ... I think.
