I think Captain Skyblade is going to be dealing with the Aliens. He's still a rebel, but he's setting up the alien stuff and I'll probably be the one to fight them.

Skyblade, my plan for continuing the offensive at this point was to leave the Confederation alone for a bit and go smash some pirates, but if you really want I can try to capture the Pollux system.

Since David is apparently leaving (and I don't blame you David, this is getting weird, even by my standards), I may work on keeping the map up to date.

A new full time Confederate representative would also be a good thing, I think, because I'm not totally sure what General Rak is doing. ErsadtSF, if you want it, I'd say that job is probably yours.

One other note for Captain Skyblade: I think we have more Assault Carriers than you're giving us credit for. Remember, they're basically Rebel Destroyers with fighter racks added and a couble of other modifications. Doesn't take long at all. I had 50 Mk. IIs in my fleet, so I'm pretty sure we had more than you think.

You're right...Guess I haven't listed enough Assault Carriers. Maybe I should boost the number up somewhat next time I list navial numbers.

As for getting political with the aliens, I don't know about that. We can't even contact their ships, we don't know what the aliens look like, they obviously won't speak a language we know of, and we don't even know where they are from!

Mac- Go ahead and trash some pirates if you want until given further orders from Rebel High Command. But be on the lookout for Confederation activity.

You likely won't spot it, since the alien battlecruiser was spotted deep inside the Serapis Nebula, where it is safe from sensor scans. And if even if you did run into it, your fleet would likely be decimated.

If it's only got 2 Heavy Fusion Beams on Turrets, my fleet would be more likely to decimate it, since it'll have 10 or more Supercruisers, and they have 3 each.

Jonathan Navarone glanced at an additional photo the Lewis Riker has brought before him. Only this time, the president didn't seem as shocked.

Riker was the first to speak. "Our recon patrols once again came across the aliens. Recon team number fourteen, composed of ten manta fighters, found unscanable targets on the radar. After investigating that unreconizable crafts, they were ambushed by these alien fighters."

As president Navarone took careful look at the alien fighter, he spoke. "Did our recon team make it back?"

"Well sir, it's obvious atleast someone made it back, because we otherwise wouldn't have this photograph. Eight out of ten mantas were destroyed, and the other two funtioncal. The pilot who brought us this picture said the alien fighters were slow, but their weapons cut through their ships like fire through paper. The rest of his squadron engaged the fighters, but the survivers said turbolasers, missiles, and pod rockets were seemingly harmless against the fighters. And another thing. These alien fighters don't have shields, but amazingly advanced armor that humans could only dream of building."

Jonathan Navarone now scanned the picture with a magnifying glass. "These fighters look nothing like the ones we've previously engaged."

Riker continued. "Correct sir. This fighter is all the more powerful, somewhat slower, larger, and extremely heavilly armed. The heavy fusion beams mounted on these fighters are also different. One surviving pilot said a single hit from one immediately destroyed a manta."

The president still studied the photo curiously. "What is this round projectile emerging from the mouth of this alien fighter...in the background?"

"A new seeker drone of some sort, according to one of the pilots. Since they have a slow turn rate (the seeker drones), the pilot said none actually hit the mantas. But these seeker drones are incredibly fast, dwarfing our torpedoes in terms of speed. We have no idea what kind of damage these new drones can cause, but we can be sure they would mean certain death to our warships."

Navarone now sat back and put his hands behind his head. "That fact that just an alien fighter carries the most deadly weapons in the universe is disturbing. This really makes me wander how heavilly armed the battlecruiser is."

Riker again spoke. "Perhaps we should inform Admiral Skyblade and the other Rebel officials to go ahead and start their mission to earth?"

"Yes, yes, tell him immediately," Navarone said swiftly. "We don't have time to waste. Perhaps if Admiral Skyblade brings these photographs before the Confederation, it will prove that this is by no means a joke."

"Yes sir," Riker replied. "I'll inform you of any additional information."

Roberto Nelson, CEO of the Rebel Arms Corporation, threw his bundle of graphs and wireframes down on the table of the president's lounge. He was the business-type person, and immediately went straight to the point.

"After roughly a month of hard work, the RAC has completed the designs for the requested Rebel Carrier."

President Navarone set his coffee down on the table, and looked curiously at the papers. "Interesting...It's extremely agressive-looking."

Nelson, happy that the president already approved of atleast the design, continued. "I'm sure that just by looking at the graph, you can't tell how large this vessel is. Once built, if it ever is, it will be 5000 meters long, which would make it the largest ship ever built in the galaxy we know of."

President Navarone choked on his coffee. After spilling some of the liquid on his shirt and swallowing the rest, he replied. "5000 meters!? That's rediculous...I will not be willing to put such large amounts of resources into a ship of that size."

Nelson, who let out a quiet chuckle after watching the president choke on his coffee, went on. "But wait. You asked us to design a carrier, and that's exactly what we did. Since I was told by Lewis Riker that a ship was needed to carry large numbers of fighters, that's what we focused on. This carrier design has ten fighter bays, each of which can hold one hundred Rebel fighters with ease."

The president's face then turned to that of surprise. "So you're saying this warship could carry 1000 Rebel fighters?"

"Precisely, Mr. President."

"And how long would it take to contruct such a massive warship?"

Nelson started running through math on a sheet of paper before replying. "At the current time, the Rebellion seems to be an industrial giant in terms of ship manufacturing. If we were to start building this ship with a few thousand workers, we could have it done in roughly two or three years."

Navarone stroked his chin. "We can't afford to wait that long."

Nelson collected his thoughts for a moment before continuing. "It could easilly be completed much sooner if you are willing to devote half of the RAC shipbuilders and machinery from building smaller warships to constructing this giant vessel."

"But wouldn't our cruiser or destroyer numbers decrease in doing so?"

"To an extent, but they wouldn't decrease, but likely still increase at a slower rate. The Rebellion is still churning out so many warships that the Confederation can't handle our fleets. If you ask for my advice Mr. President, I recommend you devote half of the RAC warship builders to this project."

President Navarone leaned back against the wall of his lounge, thinking of what to say. "Alright, Mr. Nelson, I hearby authorize you to contruct this Rebel Carrier. Half of the RAC shipbuilders are now shifted from cruiser and destroyer production to the construction of this new carrier."

"Thankyou sir," Nelson responded. "You won't regret your decision. I promise we will have this project complete in under four months."

"Goodluck," Navarone said. "You're going to need it."

With that, Roberto Nelson left the president alone in his lounge. The President then began to laugh when he realized Nelson was blind to what he had in mind. Nelson spoke ok crushing the Confederation with this carrier, but Navarone planned on using the vessel against the dreaded aliens. But the news of discovering aliens wouldn't be top-secret much longer...

Alan Rak watched as his mighty fleet entered the vicinity of Liberty Station. Suddenly, a huge fleet of bounty hunters hypered in next to him. Just as he was about to hail the bounty hunters, a confederation warfleet entered the system. Immediately he had his fleet launch all their torpedoes. The bounty hunters did you same. In the unexpected hail of fire, 3/4 of the confed fleet was destroyed. While the confederate commander was trying to regain control of the battle, the 50 modified kestrels in his fleet went on auto pilot. They easily took out the remaining portion of the confed warfleet, then joined up with General Rak's fleet

Jonathan Navarone knew that Riker had a good point, and he couldn't continue arguing against it. "Very well, Riker. Send the 13th Battlegroup to the perimeter of the Serapis Nebula with Admiral Vaten in command. Hopefully, if they aliens see we know of their existence, they will remain in the nebula."

Navarone receives the new Stardock Alpha blueprints and defense schedule with awe. "Tell me, General Rak, I'm curious as to how you got a hold of these. Either you are an experienced spy, or you are a Confederation official who has defected."

After seeing the information Rak handed him, Navarone knew what Rak had in mind.

"Your mission would be a dangerous one, but I must turn it down. Perhaps I should inform you that Admiral Skyblade is currently on his way to earth on a peaceful political mission. Should the Rebellion make a strike on the Stardock Alpha project, and assasinate the Confederation Minister of Defense, Admiral Skyblade's fleet would be destroyed immediately. For now, attacks on the Confederation are currently being halted, because of top-secret reasons."

President Navarone leaned back in his chair, running through his thoughts. "Instead," he continued, "I'd like for you to make a raid on Pirate's Cove. Itellegence reports that a large pirate fleet is mobilizing there, and your orders are to destroy the fleet at all costs before it begins wrecking havoc on Rebel supply lines. That is all, and good luck."

"President Navarone," Riker stated, "you were right afterall."

"What do you mean?" The president responded. "Have a seat."

Before Riker even seated himself, he began speaking. "The entire 13th Battlefleet was just wiped out."

President Navarone gasped. "When, where? The entire fleet has been destroyed?"

"Correct, Mr. President," Riker replied. "We don't even know what kind of ships destroyed them, but we can be sure it was the aliens. Admiral Vatan was leading the 13th Battlegroup around the Nebula when he was attacked by unscanable hostile targets. The only thing we heard from him was a short radio transmission just before he was killed."

Navarone breathed deeply. "Admiral Vatan...Dead...What next? I suppose all my best commanders will be slaughtered before long."

Riker brought in a disk and placed it into the president's computer. "This disk contains the radio message from the R.N.S. Intrepid."

"This is Admiral Vatan, requesting immediate assistan- (explosians in the background) aliens have ambushed fleet. It's a massacre! We need imm- (large explosians rocking ship) Ship is disabled, hundreds of (static) swarming us. Weapons are offline! Armor is- (fusion beam heard tearing through bridge, ship exploding, end of message)

"That's all we have, sir," Riker explained. "There were only two Rebel warfleets within distance of receiving the message, but when they arrived, nothing was found, not even aliens."

"Riker," the president said, sounding somewhat saddened, "if you listened closely to the end of that radio transmission, you would have noticed that the weapon was that of a large fusion beam of some type, more deadly then the heavy fusion beam. Only the alien battlecruiser carries these weapons, atleast that we know of."

"You're right sir," Riker agreed. "They 13th Battlefleet must have been attacked by the battlecruiser. It's perfect evidence."

"Well now," Navarone said, "now that I've lost one of my best Admirals, I'm curious to see how General Rak performs his mission at Pirate's Cove. Should he succeed, and prove his loyalty to the Rebellion, he would be my choice pick as a replacement for Admiral Vatan."

The marine platoon burst into the bulk freighter. They were met by interior neutron fire emenating from a defense turret. One marine was slightly injured, but quickly recovered. You didn't give me any recon on the fleet in Evildrome, so I will assume the following-

As soon as he enters the Evildrome system, Fak orders all of his ships to fire topedoes at the kestrels and corvettes. Catching the pirates surprise, the Visionary empties its entire load of whacker missiles at the lightnings. 15 lightnings go down instantly, and 10 other damaged ones get destroyed in the crossfire. Meanwhile, the pirates have lost all of their kestrels and 100 corvettes. The remaining pirate corvettes begin unloading missiles on the rapiers, killing 85. Twenty five more were lost in the ensuing heavy rocket dump. Another round of fire went off and 80 corvettes were lost. The remaining corvettes concentrate fire on the rapier carriers, destroying 8 of them before all of the corvettes were space dust.

At that moment, a barrage of 1000 missiles slammed into Rak's corvettes, Following that, a massive amount of heavy rockets smashed Rak's kestrels. At that point Rak's 1000 lightnings descend and murder the pirate lightnings. The remaining clippers and argosies are mopped up with minimal losses.

Correction- Location = Pirates Cove

Macavenger meanwhile leads a fleet of 40 Supercruisers against Evildrome. The pirates were not at all prepared for a raid like this, not that they could be. Forty supercruisers was likely the most powerful taskforce ever assembled by mankind. Swooping in on the pirates at Evildrome, they never had a chance. with the moons defense fleet included, the pirates had about 300 ships, from Argosies to Rapiers and some Kestrels and Corvettes. The battle was probably also the greatest case of overkill in recorded history, but it worked well as the Rebels didn't lose a man. After destroying all the pirate's ships in the system, the Cruisers took up position around the moon of Evildrome and burned off all the pirates structures, then returned to Apollo, to prepare for a similar raid on New Antigua.

The intelligence was quickly passed onto Rebel High Command, with a call for back-up.

"General Rak," President Navarone said in the way of greetings, "I'm proud of your performance at Pirate's Cove. According to recon reports and scanner sweeps, it seems as though you took the entire pirate fleet by surprise, since very few pirate vessels have been seen in the system sense. If you keep this up, the pirates will no longer pose a threat to our freighter and supply convoys."

President Navarone paced around the lounge before continuing. "But, the pirates are not yet reduced to a small band of savages. They have mobilized a large force of warships and fighters of various types in the Aries system, orbiting Cydonia. We can't send your fleet alone to combat the pirate fleet, since your losses would be to high. Since you've proved yourself a loyal member of the Rebellion, I now promote you to Admiral. I recently lost one of my best Admirals in a classified attack, and I need a replacement. As your first move as Admiral, take two warfleets, the 23rd and 31st, to the Aries system. Be there as quickly as possible, for the pirates could launch an attack of their own if we aren't quick."

Admiral Rak saluted, turned and left the room.
