    • A rather off topic question

I realize that this is not really an ev question, but because of the comunity that this web board attracts (mac oldies, i have been usin macs since the '80s, and have had ev since it came out, and realize that many of you have also. As of late however i have not been very active in either the mac or escape velocity comunity.) Because of this I think that perhaps one of you will be able to answer my question. I am intrested in knowing a good source of vintage 68k mac parts, specifically a ethernet card or external adapter for a performa 475. Now i believe that one of those two products was made for a short time. I would be intrested if anyone knew where i could procure either of these two items. Also, what is the most comprehensive used mac retailor, i am curious because of a specific project that i am undertaking. And I would prefer if noone told me to get a Imac, a G4, G4 cube or any other modern solution. I already have a G4, i just want to be able to network the old 68k mac. Also on this topic, the performa 475 shipped with the 68LC040 chip with a partial FPU. Does anyone know it upgrade processors/logic boards are still available? Thanks and sorry about any grammer and/or spelling mistakes.
      Thanks,
      Joe

    • One of the best all-around places I've found that you can still procure ancient Mac parts at is on eBay. They really have a lot of stuff on there that would be useful to you and can be had cheaply and safely. Rooster may have more information about this than I do as will Soviet Mikee, but I thought I'd give you something to look at whilst you await a more specific response.

    • (url="http://"http://www.micromac.com")Micromac(/url) has loads of stuff for upgrading old Mac's.

You can get an Ethernet adapter for $59 at this page: (url="http://"http://www.micromac.com/products/nw_lc-ethernet-combo.html")http://www.micromac....rnet-combo.html(/url)

As for your processor, you will have to buy a full 68040 processor, since the logic board doesn't have an FPU socket. This will cost you $99: (url="http://"http://www.micromac.com/products/fpus.html")http://www.micromac....ducts/fpus.html(/url)

      🙂
