    • Huh? The topic said it was for EV v1.0. Does it work for the newer versions too?

    • I think what -david- meant to state is that it's MAGMA: EV 1.0, meaning that it's the 1.0 verision of MAGMA for EV and not EV itself that's 1.0.

Ohh...I should have seen that. I didn't read the topic too closely I think. Thanks for clearing that up forge.

    • Man, I've been using Magma for EV non-stop...The Rebel Destroyer and Kestrel graphics are awesome.

    • I recently downloaded EV-MAGMA, and while I was impressed with most of ti, I do have a few complaints:

      • The landing picts. You just recycled them from EVO:MAGMA and many of them still have no relation whatsoever to the planets themselves. With your grahpics, what once were pastoral farmlands are now cities (EV pic- flat green grassland & blue sky; MAGMA- city) Especially Stardock Alpha. When I downloaded EV-MAGMA, I went to Stardock Aplha and thought, "Man, what they did to Stardock Alpha's gonna be cool!" Note: I went there believing you had MAGMA-tized the custom graphic for Stardock Alpha: The station with Confed warships docked at it and Earth in the background. I landed at the station, and what did I see? The same "floating disco-like ball in the weird alien lack-and-white grayish background" pic that you used to (poorly) represent "The Rock" in EVO:MAGMA.
      • The Rebel Cruiser. Ugh. You made the main fuselage too wide and the wings too small. It does not even resemble a Rebel Cruiser much anymore.
      • The fighters' cockpits are too small. Please make them bigger.

That said, there were a lot of good things in EV: MAGMA:
      • The sounds are excellent.
      • The intro screen is nice and simple, far better than the complex EVO:MAGMA title that had no focal point whatsoever.
      • The Alien Cruiser (I looked at it in ResEdit) totally rocked. 🆒 Great "organic" texturing, Meowx.

Well, that's all my comments for now.

Patriot, I think the reason why Meowx used the landing pics from EVO: Magma is because it would take consdierable time to create wholly new ones. As for the fighters and the Rebel Crusier, they seem more then alright to me. In fact I think the Rebel Crusier is awesome.

Good job to all you at Meowx and may you never cease to produce more wonders.

    • I Actually like the original Rebel Cruiser far better, but the Rebel Destroyer seen in MAGMA makes up for all that...

You mean you sent them the story and such for your plugin, and they did the graphics? Fair deal...

No, the quantumire trilogy is a plug produced by Meowx. It does have some fairly good graphics, though I've always been partial to top-down over three-quarters. It has a few problems though that keep it a tad outside the top echelon of plugs. If you get MacAddict, it came on one of their CDs, and it's downloadable somewhere on Meowx's site.

    • Thanks for all the comments! First of all; yeah, I know the RC is a bit of a drastic change. Originally, I had the main hull skinnier and more faithful to the original, but it just didn't look as realistic or as sleek... as for the fighter cocpits, I don't know what you're smoking. 😉 And the landings may get re-done... you've got to remember that Meowx didn't actually do those, I got them from somewhere else. And yes, a lot of stuff is taken from EVO : MAGMA. But then, why wouldn't it be? And you can find out about Quantumire at (url="http://"http://www.meowx.com/quantumire")www.meowx.com/quantumire(/url). Currently, all the ships have been re-modeled and I'm preparing for a Quantumire Special Edition for EVO. Perhaps I'll do a Q:MAGMA for EV.... already got all the work done... Thanks again!

Yes, I got it on the Macaddict CD. That is where I found out about EV. I also prefer top-down, the other way is kind of confusing during a fight.

My same thoughts as well. The Argosy looks awesome, but the Rebel Destroyer looks really awesome...It thing looks as if it can destroy a Confederation Cruiser with ease.
