    • Creating Plugins

I'm very interested in making plugins, but with what program? I'm very good with graphics; I work for Spiderweb Software as a graphics artist. I want to make a new set of ships with new names and wireframes and stuff.

      What editor should I use?
      Where can I get it?

    • Ouch...This would take three pages to tell you how to make the basics of a plugin. 🙂

To put in short, download the latest "EV Bible" (it applies to Override as well), and "ResEdit." Those are two ot the most powerful programs you'll find, ResEdit in particular. The EV Bible will explain how to use ResEdit. Or if you want, get the "ShipWrite" program. Making ships is easy with this program. All this is put in short, but hope it helps. 🙂 You can find all these applications in the add-ons page of the Ambrosia website.

    • Hey! You never told me about "Ship Write" 😉 😄 🙂

    • Actually the EV bible doesn't apply to EV:O that much because of all the new features. It could be a good starting place for learning the EV:O bible.

Well, the EV Bible gives all new programmers a good foundation for writting plugins. Then, once the programmer knows all the basic ropes, he can then start thinking about all the extra features Override supports...

    • Could also try (url="http://"http://www.ixoft.com/dyna.html")http://www.ixoft.com/dyna.html(/url) for the EV and EV:O Objects Formulas, and all the utilities made by Pontus Ilbring, which can be found in the Add Ons, Developer's Map, Formula Calc etc. are all good ones to use.

    • I also recommend the ResEdit Guide; it is designed for beginners who don't know anything about ResEdit. It is on the add-ons page.

You want a simpler editor try Ev-Edit, it's much easier but it's full of bugs.
